Shadows of remebrance dart into the night,
As the wizard's shroud fades into the light,
Of a hopeless cause, a plague without end,
For the gods no longer have a blessing to send,
To mortals who can't pass a simple test of faith,
Succumbing instead to the venomous wraith,
Of society's flaws and corruption of the land,
As the hourglass deposits it's last grain of sand,
No more time for the wizard to work magic in a world
Where technology and political unrest have unfurled,
As an action of the past becomes the folly of his life,
The power to make peace used instead to make strife,
And an empire is forgotten with the rising of the sun,
A new nation rises from the ashes of a gun,
Just to vanish just as quickly into a guilded past,
For when deprived of each other,
War and peace cannot last,
And so the mortal world is smashed by a legion from the sky,
Victims of a vain attempt to dodge the wizard's eye....
