You were young when you had me;
I was still young when you left.
There was never a trace of hatred,
But love was never there to be felt.
Your name is clear in my memory;
Your face a vivid picture,
Images which came from the past;
Images which I know are for sure.
Where you are now, I do not know,
But we will meet--that is for certain--
So that it may be possible
To bring down this invisible curtain.
But then again if fate does not allow,
Time will never rob me of what I remember.
For I know it for sure; I know it by heart,
Because you will still and always be my father.
