Lanaia Lee's "Grief Being Without You"
© 2003-2004 by Lanaia Lee
I awaken each and every morning, and I get up to fix your first meal
Then I remember death took you from me to a different plane
Thinking to myself, will I ever emotionally heal?
Without you each day is so hard to face.

As I yawn and stretch, I awaken enough to realize you are really gone
Another day without you how this hurts
So alone and forlorn, I want to cry and moan
I hate the thought you had to leave me on the hem of death's skirt.

I like to pretend and play you are still here
This I do because it helps fill an emptiness within my soul
It helps soften what I feel without you FEAR
About being on my own to achieve this is a primary goal.

The house we lived in I have to let go
The memories here haunt me and make me sad
Life without you on me is going to take a tremendous toll
I wonder if ever again I will smile or be glad.

I can't wait for the day our spirits will reunite
We shall declare our love for each other once again
Never again then will I have to face this awful plight
The happiest day of my life will be when to you I can ascend.
