Lanaia Lee's "Infinite Solitude"
© 2004 by Lanaia Lee
I was with you and watched you die so long ago
I have spent many lonely relentless decades without you, my love
All these many decades I only had love in my damned heart for you
I know deep within my soul when you died your soul ascends above.

I damned my soul for the chance again I may find you one day
Sustaining myself off the blood of others just for the hope of someday maybe meeting you again
If I saw you again I would make my presence known without delay
I know what I do to maintain my ungodly existence is a sin.

The wearing of black, the drinking of blood all this I do in hopes of finding you
Just for the chance to be able to hold you again
My existence is very lonely as there are not very many of my kind
My reasoning for what I do I will always defend.

Believe me I don't condone what I have to do
Getting my sustenance from others, see
But this I do for the day you may again make your debut
Me just holding to the hope one day you again I would see.

Now I walk in the footsteps of those of the undead
Lonely and longing for your company once again
I had no idea the ocean of solitude I would have to tread
But what I have done and become this I would gladly do again.
