It sure is hot as my air conditioner has broken down again
I will have to call a maintenance man to fix it
The man I have to call thank heaven he is a friend
This place is so hot it is starting to feel like a fiery pit.

Listening to the news I hear the strangler got another one
Living alone this news scares and terrifies me
I really for the sake of protection should get a gun
If my life were threatened I wouldn't hesitate to use it see.

I sure will be glad when the maintenance man gets here
It is so hot I'm dripping sweat and it is getting hard to breathe
From the news I have heard I start to feel fear
Thinking if I met this man it would surely mean death.

The killer that commits these awful deeds must be insane
I just can't conceive someone doing such awful things
I wonder if he kills because from this he can't refrain
Wondering how many he has killed when he goes on one of his insane flings.

I finally hear an awaited knock at my door
I let him in and show him where the unit is
All of a sudden he grabs me and tackles me to the floor
A cord around my throat, I realize this is a situation I cannot win.
