Lanaia Lee's "In His Image"
© 2004 by Lanaia Lee
We were all raised to believe we were created in God's image
But I don't think we inherited his ways
We should be ashamed of ourselves, of the evil thing
We do to tarnish ourselves, us within his image
All the choices we make put our lives in such disarray.

His intention wasn't we always choose the wrong path
As we turn against our brothers and always start wars
So far we haven't had to feel God's wrath
Famine, plague, war and much much more.

Just as Cain killed Able to each other we do the same
Not trusting any one or showing any kind of charity
We always try and point to someone else to take the blame
Yet we don't stop and take the time to ask ourselves why.

God gave us the gift if free choice
It is up to us how we make use of this
In each situation we face we have a voice
Our choices, our free will, hit or miss.

So how much longer will he allow our wickedness?
Our missiles facing each other ready to kill
In his image, Is he proud of our disgracefulness?
We have the choice of our fate to unseal.
