Lanaia Lee's "And I Know"
© 2004 by Lanaia Lee
As I look through the window there seems to be
a dense fog gathering out side
The street light looks fuzzy as the fog seems to rise
I see the hazy form of someone walking outside
Lightening silently flashing, I think we are in for a storm.

I wonder to myself, why would anyone be out on a frightful foggy night?
It must be very important to you to be out on a night like this
You must have courage to be out on this dark foggy night
He seems to be moving fast like he has some sort of important
appointment he doesn't want to miss.

I walk outside on my porch as the night air feels warm
What happens next, to this event I wasn't warned
This was unexpected like the coming of a freak storm
You grab me from behind, and I know you want to inflict harm

No matter how tightly you hold me I still try to get away
You are holding my mouth so tight, I think you might snap my neck
Then you lean down like you are going to kiss me
Instead I feel your hot breath on my neck.

The pain to my neck feels like a pin prick, it really doesn't hurt
I am taken to a place beyond anything I have ever known
A little blood trickles down my neck, it reaches my white shirt
When I realize what is happening I am chilled to the very bone.
