Lanaia Lee's "Ostia"
© 2004 by Lanaia Lee
We sail into the bay we love so much
Standing on the deck of the ship the ocean breeze feels warm
Our voyage was one that was long and hard
We are so glad to be back to our port city that possesses a certain charm

Ostia, containing the Claudius Harbor, our city by the sea
Our security here is always on guard because so many races live here
But we all try to live together as happy as can be
I look at each man as my brother why retain fear?

This being a port city we use the port for trade
You would probably think life here is simple and plain
Nothing of this lovely place makes me afraid
I guess to my death in this city I shall remain.

I love this Roman controlled city by the sea
The life of everyone here so happy and gay
Each person living in harmony as happy as can be
This city of work, love, and play.

Our city will one day be old and decay
Hoping that generations to come will learn of us one day
I hope our city will one day give people a lot to say
Ostia, as I said the city of work, love, and play.
