Carol Dee Meeks "The Race"
© 2003-2004 by Carol Dee Meeks

From Generation to
generation, the word
of the locust plague
has been passed down.

Between the palmerworm,
the locust, the cankerworm,
and the caterpillar-how
they ate of each one's
crumbs-the devastation
brought havoc and desolation.

A time of great distress,
for the people to address,
the coming of the Lord,
Evil ones to fall upon His sword.

If we accept His mercy and grace,
Heirs of His kingdom we face.
If only we finish the race,
we will meet Him face to face.
