When unrest touches the soul
Some may reach out only to find none to care,
Nothing to return when nothing is given
For the uncaring heart that refuses to share.
Love and hate permeates throughout the earth
Its results reflected in nature and humanity,
The thirst for power and control, infiltrates the soul
These results reflected in humankind's vanity.
Love, our strongest force, and the only to endure
Shared by the courageous, unafraid of this emotion,
Tempers the oppressive clouds of hate
These results reflected in humankind's devotion.
Recalling all that you have, or have not given
In your quiet moments, your heart returns to you,
A heart cannot be given, it is meant to be shared
Because at life's end, this is all that is you.
