Jeanie Snethen "Realization"
© 1998-2004 Jeanie Snethen
The time gets tiring...
as it twists and turns
destroys all we might love....
all we might hate....
changing plans borrowed from
future friends and past enemies....
Erasing childhood hopes
and dreams and leaving nothing....
Except for the dust of recolection.
But even that gets destroyed by the haze....
And minds, once so sharp..
Now cower in fear of....
Tomorrow, today....
By watching the future we let
the past get in the way....
Sleeping in the dusk that spans.... forever....
But forever could end in one minute.....
it could already have passed by....
forgotten on the winds that carry us away from ourselves....
tossing us from where we want to be....
to where we really are....
refusing denial.. and denying
refusal.... of self.... of pain....
pain that seeps through the cracks of our minds....
but is remembered forever and forgotten in a moment of time
