Short Autobiography

Gene and Marlys were married on November 17, 1962. They lived in Hazelwood in the trailer court next to the Volkswagen dealer on Lindberg, then Ferguson until 1966. Daughter, Cindy, was born in 1964. Son, Mark, was born in 1966. Gene went to Florissant Valley and started on engineering degree. They moved to Rolla in 1966. He graduated in 1968. They then mo ved to Freeeport Illinois where he worked for MicroSwitch. Marlys started taking classes toward her degree. They moved to Kansas City in 1971. He worked for DIT-MCO then Hallmark. Marlys graduated with B.S. in accounting in 1973, M.S. in accounting in 1979. She taught at CMSU and other schools and also worked in industry. Both of their children graduated from UMR. Cindy is married lives in New York has three kids, a girl 15 and two boys 5 and 2. Mark is married an lives in Lee's Summit., Missouri. He has a boy 11 and girl 5. Gene and Marlys have also been involved in the residential rental business for a number of years. They started a 12 acre Christmas tree farm which is located within the Kansas City city limits. They are active in square dancing and are traveling more.
