Harper

I want to say this: Harper rules! He is definetly one of my favorite characters.

No one has better lines. Harper is a goof-off, high-spirited, machanic, who enjoys surfing and is accually much smarter than he looks. Even though he'd somewhat perverted he has yet to cross the line with me.

Harper has an interesting part to his character. He seems to be the only one who grew up on earth, (we don't know about Dylan) and as I understand it, earth is not in good shape. Neits and Maggog have ravished the planet and left it little more than a tattered war zone.

When Harper was still young two of his twin cousins were attacked by a Maggog and raped, causing them to be the paralized victims of Maggog eggs. (the maggog's way of reproduction) Harper's family was left with the choice to either kill the young twins or allow the Maggog to hatch and most likely attack the rest of the family and many others. The attack left a large impact on Harper and fostered his life-long hate of the Maggog.

Harper was orginaly the machanic on the Eureka Maru, he now serves as resident handyman and 'Machine Specialist' on the Andromeda. Harper was also resposible for making the "ship made flesh" or android avatar of the ships AI now known as Rommie.

Predictions? Harper has continued to grow in his character. He recently had the files of the Commonwealth All Systems University, downloaded into his brain through the cerebral port on his neck. Suddenly Harper had the knowledge of the universe in his head, and he didn't know what to do with it. The result provided a great lesson in wisdom.

He has his faults, but Harper's a good guy. I hope to see more of him and greater plots for his character.

Many people wonder where the cerebral port on Harper's neck is from. My personal opinion is that it is the result of an experiment performed on him by Niets. I know that Niets take human slaves and in real life cases of people following Nietzsche's teachings (most notably Natzis) didi medical experiments on their slaves so as not to risk hurting a superior human before using a new device or technique. I think Harper fell into this situation and his resut was the ability to talk to computers with his brain. Just what everyone needs, a hole in their head.

***The episode "Be All My Sins Remembered" showed that Harper did not get his dataport until after leaving Earth with Beka Valentine. And it implied he got the port willingly. New theory needed.**
