Genesee Valley Forensic League

Welcome to the Genesee Valley Forensic League!

The Genesee Valley Forensic League (G.V.F.L.) is an organization of secondary school Speech and Debate Teams in the Rochester, N.Y. area. Through interscholastic contests in debate and in public speaking, the G.V.F.L. prepares students of secondary schools to become articulate and concerned Americans.

In Speech and Debate, students have a chance to compete in tournaments and exercise their speaking skills. Member teams compete at all day tournaments which are always on Saturday, about twice a month.

There are seven different categories G.V.F.L. competitors may participate in.

The G.V.F.L. is based in Rochester, N.Y. and consists of the following member teams:
Aquinas Institute
Bishop Kearney High School
Canandaigua High School
Fairport High School
The Harley School
Lansing High School
McQuaid Jesuit High School
School of the Arts
Spencerport High School
Webster High School

If you are a student interested in joining a Speech and Debate Team, please feel free to attend meetings at your high school. If your school does not have a team but you would like to participate in Speech and Debate, please contact us. If you are a parent, teacher, or Rochester community member interested in helping out, we are always in need of judges and volunteer assistance. So please join us for the educational and entertainment experience of a life time.

If you have any questions, please contact us. Thank you!
