Shaking her blonde hair slightly, Celeste looked up at the two storey high school, just barely making it out in the inky blackness of night.  A single light shone out of a top window, illuminating hte tall figure on the window ledge.

Moving quickly and quietly, Celeste made her way toward the figure, keeping herself hidden in the shadows.  She had nearly reached him when he looked up and saw her.

"Who are you?" he asked, frightened.  Celeste didn't answer, instead, taking another step forward.  Her dark jeans and sweater blended into the night, allowing only her head to be visible.

"Don't do it, Robert," she breathed softly.  He looked at her, surprised that she knew his name.  His balance faltered a little.

"Who are you?" he asked again.

"That's not important," Celeste said, "But you are.  Don't do this, Robert.  You have so much to  live for."

Robert was getting annoyed now and he yelled angrily,
"What would you know!  Leave me alone!"

Celeste was silent for a moment.  The cold night air washed over them and whipped her long blonde hair around her head.
"Don't do it," she repeated.  This time her voice was forceful, demanding.  It made Robert stop and take a step back.

"Why shouldn't I?  My girlfriend is dead!  I want to join her and this is the only way!"  He walked towards the edge of the ledge and looked down.  "Goodbye."

"Wait!"  Reflexes in action, Celeste groped in the darkness and caught his arm, preventing him from jumping.

"There's a better way to deal with your grief, trust me."

Twisting away, Robert fixed her with a cold look that penetrated through her skull.

"I trusted my girlfriend," he said softly, dangerously.  "And then she betrayed me.  She died, do you hear me?  She
died!"

"I know, Robert.  It hurts you so much, I can feel it."  Celeste placed a hand over her heart to show him.  "But this isn't the way to get revenge.  Jumping will be the biggest mistake of your life."
