Hi! Just wanted to say a little about myself or at least cover the major points. I am a 43 yr old female from Texas. I am 4'11 and right now my weight is at 135. When I was 14 I was given a blood transfusion. 24 yrs later I was diagnosed with hepatitis C. If they had caught it earlier I might have been able to be cured... but I have had it too long. I'm currently in treatment and in remission. The treatments are like chemo and have made me pretty weak and sick... but I'll be done with them in June. YAY! OK so your wondering what hep c is... Hep c is a blood virus that attacks your liver causing liver cirrhosis and can cause liver cancer. How can you get it? dirty tattoo needles sharing drug needles dirty body piercing needles contaminated blood(like me) You can't get it from: kissing drinking or eating after a person that has it food prepared by an infected person protected sex and yes I just found out there is a safe way to have oral sex haha without protection there is only a 6% chance of getting it sexually. Why did i write this? I guess because I'm tired of people running from what they don't understand and don't really want to understand. I know im not the only person in the world that's been diagnosed with hep c and I also know that more people have it and don't know they have it. People need to learn, understand, and hopefully not run from people that are hep c positive anymore. We are humans with feelings too. |
