360 SEDAN
My Subaru 360
Custom 360,
SAMBAR
The subaru 360 was introduced in 1958 to meet Japans new Kei Jidosha* class of cars.  The first models were powered by a 16hp engine and had a top speed of 51mph and a claimed mileage of 75mpg.  As the 360 matured it became Japans best selling automobile and was joined by a truck and van variation called Sambar in 1961.  The 360 was also available with a larger 423cc engine as the subaru 450.  While the subaru enjoyed much success in Japan, it wasn't very well recieved in the U.S.  In 1968 Malcom Bricklin began importing the subaru 360 sedans and vans. Many people considered the 360 cars and vans too small and slow for use on American highways.  In 1969 production of the 360 ceased.
