The hose and nozzle are at the start line in the hands of the firefighters.  Upon the start signal from the judge, the team members will assemble them and advance toward the target, while connecting it to the water supply.  Time is stopped when the target hits the ground.  One person must remain at the water supply to shut it down in case of a problem.  For safety, the pump operator stays at the panel until the event is over.  The target is located 175’ from the water supply, if the line becomes disconnected before the target is hit, the line may be shut down, reconnected and the event continued.
