Fire SCBA Maze

Rules & Regulations

Object: To have all members complete the maze in the shortest time possible.

A. Equipment: 1) Maze Trailer
                              2) Self Contained Breathing Apparatus (SCBA)
                              3) Blindfolds

B. Fire Gear Needed 1) NFPA compliant structural firefighting gear
                                            2) NFPA compliant helmet and gloves

C. Firefighters: Three (3)

D. Set-Up: 1) Maze trailer will be set level in a parking lot.
                      2) Participants will don all gear and SCBA before event begins.
                      3) A finish line will be located one (1) foot outside of the exit door of the maze trailer.
                      4) The contestants will be blindfolded at the entry door and placed in a line.
                      5) The contestant’s blindfold may not be removed until he/she as crossed the finish line.

E. Procedures: 1) At the signal, the first contestant will proceed into and complete the maze. After exiting  the  trailer,   the contestant will cross the finish line.
                                2) The next contestant will be signaled thirty (30) seconds after the first. This contestant  will then  complete  the maze and cross the finish line.
                                3) The next contestant will be signaled thirty (30) seconds after the second. This contestant will then        complete the maze and cross the finish line, signifying the end of the event.

F. Penalties: 1) Removing blindfold Disqualification
                           2) Jumping the whistle 10 seconds
                           3) Using lights Disqualification
                            4) Removing gloves 10 seconds
