My Mom and I in 1998
23 weeks pregnant w/ Cyrus
In February of 1988 I was in a terrible car accident with my mother.  It almost cost her life, but thanks again to God my mother survived and is alive today to tell the story after a long stuggle.  She was paralyzed and was told she may never walk again, but with the encourgment of the family and her own need to walk she proved the doctors wrong.  We had just moved to a new town a month previous and i had just started school and then the car crash caused me to miss 3 months of school while i lived with my grandmother waiting for my mothers release from Grant Medical Center in Columbus, Ohio.  I was taken to Grady Memorial here in Delaware.  I suffered a broken jaw and had several cuts and bruises.  I remember getting stiches in my chin but i don't remember then putting the wires in my mouth.  I had to have my mouth wired shut for awhile and then i had the wires removed.  I am sure everybody enjoyed me having my mouth wired shut because i couldn't figure out how to talk like that LOL!  So anyway everything turned out ok in the end.  The guy that hit us headon died either before or right after the crash (no body knows).
My parents got a disolution when i was 14 and i went to live with my mother in a 2 bedroom apartment which was ok with me because i still seen my father but i got to spend alot of time with my mother (she spoiled me because i am her only child).  My dad remarried June 20, 199?.  My mom just got remarried August 21, 1999..
In June of 1997 I graduated from Buckeye Valley High School.   I also attended Delaware Joint Vocational School and studied Early Childhood Education.
On February 14th of 1998 I married  Donald E. Norris II. On May 17,2000 we got a dissolution.   We just weren't meant to be married.   Donnie remarried in Octorber of 2000 and has a step daughter who is 2 I think and a son born June 2001. Update on Donnie 9/19/04 His 3rd son was born just a few days ago with his new wife.  I am so happy for the two of them.  Now he has 4 little ones to raise:-)

I married my real high school sweetheart on June 8, 2002 and gave birth to our son Cyrus Dominick Orion on August 1, 2002 4 weeks before he was due. Update 9/19/04 I am pregnant with baby #2 due 1/22/05.
In June of 1992 I volunteered for ARC (Association for Retarded Citizens) summer day camp.  Each volunteer was assigned a camper with special needs that we were responsible for.  I was match with a young boy that was 3 years old.  He was suffering from a heart defect and the chances of him living to be an adult were slim to none.  I got attached to little Brian right away.  We had a blast.  He never really acted like anything was wrong unless he got to active.  The way i learned about the camp was that the ARC was the only organization to give my mom a chance after she regained use of her legs and most of the use of her arms and hands.  They gave her a chance at a life again!  The next summer i still volunteered and was assigned a little girl with many special needs, mainly emotional.  She was so sweet but could be a handful.  The next year after that i was still a volunteer and was assigned 2 harder campers that needed alot of care and someone that was very responsible.  One of them suffered from Autism. BTW the policy was that if your camper was absent one day of camp (camp was 3 days a week) then you would be assigned another camper or become a helper.  My campers occassionaly were absent for health reasons and i was usually placed with a little boy with emotional damage, but he could be so sweet and i loved being with him.  I continued to volunteer until 1995.  At that time i became a paid aide.  I was given more responsibity and harder campers.  I began to work with children with epilepsy and cerebral palsy.  Alot of them were in wheelchairs.  In 1997 i became an assistant to the director and began doing more volunteer work with other local childrens agencies.  My job as the assistant was to take care of my two campers plus make sure that all the other campers were taken care of.  My campers at the time were two wonderful autistic boys age 5 and 6.  They were brothers and from a special family.  They were two of three children born to the same family with autism which is very rare.  They are now studying the family to see what the problem is and if it is genetic.  After the summer of '97 ARC was closed because of lack of interest.  They are hoping someday to get it restarted and on that day i will go back to them to do what i feel i do best and that is care for children with special needs.  Many of my "friends" in high school asked me why i did it because in the end i had only 1 day a week for anything else because of all the volunteer work and i used that one day to babysit, they were upset because i didn't spend time with them, well i will tell you that i didn't regret doing what i did.  I loved my work with the children and if the camp starts back up i will do it again! I also have a step-brother that has autism so i get to experience that often, but it doesn't bother me, i love him just the same.  I will be adding his picture to my album sometime!  If you have any questions about special needs children or volunteering for organizations please feel free to email me.
Now for my likes, dislikes and other stuff like that:
LIKES: I like surfing the net, taking care of babies and children with special needs, rescuing dogs and puppies, playing card games, making new friends, talking to old friends, going to the movies, watching pay-per-view, i love watching simpsons and southpark, listening to music, playing with the puppies, spending time with my mom, collecting barbies and porcelain dolls, thanksgiving, christmas, my birthday, horseback riding (even if i am no good at it), bowling (again, no good at it), fishing (if i can throw fish back), and watching Guiding Light on CBS at 3pm. There are many more things i like but that would take forever to type out!  I like watching the TV shows Friends,ER, The Others and many more.
DISLIKES:  I don't like seeing people pick their noses or guys scratching themselves (especially in public).  I don't like to be put down or to put down others.  I don't like mean people or people that judge others.  I don't like child abusers, rapists, molestors, animal abusers or wife beaters.  I don't like feeling depressed or others making me depressed.  I don't like talking about sucide.  I don't like guys or gals that only look at a persons outside and don't try to get to know them inside.  I don't like sales people calling my house (especially the phone company sellers).  I don't like doing manual labor.  I hate cigerettes and cigars (I tried cigerettes but not cigars because the smell makes me sick).  I don't like it when men leave the toliet seat up or forget to flush. Ok i guess that is enough dislikes to list on here.
My favorite color: Blue, because my dad would only allow me to wear blue (no pink) when i was a baby.  I also like other colors but blue is my favorite.
Favorite food:  I like italian food mainly. Spagetti and Lasange (can't spell) yum yum!  Next on my list of favorites is roast beef (especially from Rax).  I also am a chocoholic! I also enjoy putting different things on a spinach wrap and wrapping it up...yummy.
The dogs I own: I have a chi/shih-tzu mix that is 4 years old and a pom (that stays with my grandparents) that is a year old.

Latest News:  Got married June 8, 2002 and gave birth to my son Cyrus Dominick Orion on August 1, 2002.  He was born 4 weeks early weighing in at 7 lbs 13.6 oz.  He was 19" long with a 13" head circum.  He was large for being so early and he was fully developed.  He had jaundice and low body temp but he is doing wonderful now and was released from the hospital when I was 48 hours after his birth.  He has become my whole world and we all love him so much.  I hope to add more pictures of him soon.
