COVER STORY

This Is Where Your Taxes Go!

To date, the City Government of Tagum, through Mayor Rey T. Uy, the city officials and employees, have already conducted Pulong-Tulong activities in 21 barangays of the city. During these barangay visitations, vital information about how the LGU operates, including intensive medical-dental services are brought right at the doorstep of the barangay concerned.   Aside from the objective of bringing the government closer to the people, the Pulong-Tulong also aims at making the people understand why the City Government has to collect what is due to the LGU in the form of taxes from real property, residence certificates and other forms of taxation it imposes upon the people, including the humble balut vendor, to fund its various infrastructure and socio-economic projects.  Our cover tells us, taxpayers, why we should pay our taxes and where the money collected goes.
