Sir Alex applauding his team and the fans
Sir Alex Ferguson is undoubtedly one of the, if not the most successful managers ever in the history of British football. After leading Manchester United to many cup finals, and helping them bring the trophy home, there is no wonder why United don't want to let him go.

Alex Ferguson began his managing career after playing for Dunfermline, Queen's Park Rangers, and finally Glasgow Rangers. When Alex Ferguson decided that he wanted a change, he moved to East Stirling, and his management career took off. Before becoming the manager at Aberdeen, Alex Ferguson had a short while managing at St. Mirren.

It wasn't until November 7th 1986, that Alex Ferguson made the ultimate career move to United. It was here that he would be more successful than in any of his previous clubs. From 1987-the current date, Alex Ferguson has helped United to win approximatley 20 major peices of silverware, including the Treble.

It was the winning of the Treble that gave Alex his knighthood. On the 20th July, Alex Ferguson became Sir Alex Ferguson. This added to his collection of an OBE and a CBE for his services to football.
So what makes Sir Alex's winning formula? Sir Alex knows how to manager a team. His expertice knowledge, and over twenty years of experience, he knows what works. Knowing when to rest and when to play his vital players, Ferguson gives his team the strenght and potential to win a crucial game, instead of having the best eleven on the pitch all the time.
Aside from the fact that he is a very loyal man, standing by his team when they are having a dip in their career, Alex Ferguson knows how to strengthen his squad at the same time.

Ferguson has spent millions, in his career at United, improving the team by importing the best players from all over the world. Nistelrooy, Ronaldo, Smith, and Djemba-Djemba are just some of the recently signed players, that Ferguson has puchased.
As well as players, Sir Alex has also brought back from Real Madrid, Carlos Quieroz (whom used to coach Manchester United). His winning techinque will hopefully lead United to many more successful seasons.
