With my deceased academic supervisor, Prof. Mary J Berg. This picture was taken on my Master's thesis defense in December 2002. In addition to being my mentor, "Auntie Berg", as she liked me to call her, was my great friend and moral supporter who, with her unlimited kindness and nice words and advices, made it easier for me to achieve my academic goals. Dr Berg helped me find a job while I was studying, a favor that I will never forget as long as I live. She passed away in October 2004 after a long fighting with illness. I will always miss the smile of "auntie". |
