Back in Aug of 2006 we had a fire that destroyed the orginal koihouse. Luckily enough, all the fish were in the pond so other than Vicki's 14'' fantail goldfish, no one was lost. The building and all it's contents were replaced by the insurance company...it does pay off at times.

The building is 14' x 17', with one side being mostly polycarbonate panels for a full greenhouse affect. It has 2 holding tanks approx 2500 gallons and 750 gallons. The larger tank is 6' deep and the smaller only 3' deep. Both tanks are lined, one with a PVC preformed membrane  and the other with sheet EPDM.

Both tanks have bottom drains feeding settlement barrels and then mechanical filters. The returns from the Sequeance 3600's are divided up and go through the bio's and side return jets.

The bio's are Trickle Towers that move in and out, year to year with the fish, so I never have to worry about NH3 / N02.  Each tank has it's own heater, the larger, 1800w and the smaller 750w, each on a digital controller.
