The Lost Cove Wilderness Study Area is part of the Pisgah National Forest in North Carolina.  It lies along the Blue Ridge Parkway in the shadow of Grandfather Mountain, and can be seen from the Parkway's Lost Cove Cliffs overlook at milepost 310.  The general area, know as Wilson Creek, also includes the Harpers Creek Wilderness Study Area, as well as various Nation Forest recreation facilities such as a campground and off-raod vehicle trails. Wilson Creek itself has the "National Wild and Scenic River" desigination along its upper portions, and is a popular fishing destination.  The US Forest Service publishes a trail map entitled Wilson Creek Area Trail Map, which can be purchased at area ranger stations, local gear shops, or online at Wilson Creek Outfitters.
Lost Cove can be accessed from the Blue Ridge Parkway by turning east onto NC road 1511 at milepost 307.9.  Be sure to check your odometer, since mile markers may be missing or hard to see.  This is not a full interchange, just an intersection, and 1511 is an unmarked gravel road to the east (it's paved to the west and goes to Linville.).  The intersection shows at the top left corner of the trail map.
