ARMAGEDDON----
Trevor Rabin

Anyone who knows anything about film knows that this movie stunk.  Poor writing, often incoherent directing, shaky acting, Liv Tyler's annoying voice, you name the negative, this movie probably had it.

But why, then, is this score so solid?

The first half of the disk is seamless.  The thematics, the heart...but the most impressive thing to me is its simplicity.  I recently saw the tableture for the film, and I could probably play it.  But it's so GOOD!

Track 2 is probably the epitome of tenderness, while track 6 best represents suspense.  Track 4 is just crazy fun, and track 9 symbolizes the triumph that the audience was supposed to feel during the film.

Rating (out of 5): 1/2
