WORDS.
Have you ever noticed how many things have changed, since the powers that be started to embrace "situation ethics?"
Language, I feel, is one of the biggest victims. There have been quite a few changes in language, with some words even being cast aside, and not used anymore.
Let's have a look at some of what I am talking about.
Take the word Baby. Here is a real change. It used to be that a woman got pregnant, and consequently, was going to have a "Baby". Now, it is not so simple, because there are variations to that. You see, if the Baby is wanted, it can be called a Baby, but if it is unwanted, it now becomes a "Fetus". How many people do you know who used the term Fetus before Roe v Wade?
The thing is, it is perfectly acceptable to kill a fetus, because the word has no human connotation, but talking about killing a Baby is a no no. Now here's another interesting part of the equation. Talking about killing a Baby is a no no, but killing it is perfectly acceptable.
Isn't it wonderful what the abortionists have done for us?
Now, here are some words which have become almost extinct in the last eight years or so.
Truth, Honesty,Responsibility,Commitment,Trust,Decency, Morality, Marriage, Justice.
There are probably more, but I think you can get the point.
Most, if not all, of these words have been forced into extinction by the people who have lived in the White House for the past eight years, but they are not completely and wholly to blame, because the people of North America have been totally complicit, and have allowed it to happen. I venture to say that the majority have wanted it to happen.
I say the people of North America, because it seems that in Canada, there is no will other than to blindly follow whatever happens in the United States, so for the purpose of this exercise, I assume us as one people.
Of course, as these words have become extinct, they have been replaced with other words which have become much more important. For instance,
Bottom Line, Profit, Portfolio,Dividends, Interest,Economy,Money, Stocks, Bonds.
You may say, well, these are only words, but as I see it, words are what define us, and as the first list becomes less relevant, the second list becomes more important.
Politicians and pundits and talking heads love to tell us how marvelous the last eight years have been, because of the booming economyl, the bullish stock market, and the increased number of millionaires being created. So everything is great.
But wait a minute. Kids are killing kids in school. Workers are killing workers in the work place. Individual people are wondering into places killing innocent bystanders. Road rage filled drivers are killing people on the highways. Children are commiting suicide in huge numbers. More and more people are becoming dependant on drugs. We are starting them off in school now, drugging them to keep them in line, and could this possible have an effect later in life?
Billions of dollars are being wasted on an education system which is giving nobody an education. Children come home from school telling their parents how stupid it is to smoke cigarettes, but they cannot even spell cigarettes. They tell us we should recycle everything, but they cannot figure how much a pile of aluminum cans is worth. They are thoroughly immersed in sports in school, and are taught that it is ok to do anything as long as you win. Even beat up or kill your opponents. They are taught by their leader that oral sex is perfectly acceptable because it is not really sex, and at the same time, if a little kid touches another little kid in the playground, horror of horrors, call the FBI!
Social workers destroy families on a whim, most of the time based on unfounded accusations, snatching children from their parents, and sending parents to jail, with no evidence of any wrongdoing. Beaurocrats are passing laws, taking away our freedom little by little, and we are allowing it. Every aspect of our daily life is affected by some arbitrary government regulation, more and more of our hard earned income is being stolen from us by the same governments, and now, even thought is being regulated.
But hey, the stock market is up, so everything is wonderful, so let us all dance hand in hand down into destruction, because that is where we are headed.
