10:30AM EST             Flight Home for Winter Break

Hungry.  They are showing Scooby Doo movie and I tried to watch.  The only thing going for it is the kid from Scream and She’s All That, his uncanny impression of Shaggy.  Otherwise I think they shoulda kept the characters true to the cartoon instead of modernizing it and making it all college-y.  No one else is wearing headphones, it is kind of embarrassing to be seen with them on.  There were lots of people watching for Spy Kids 2 though.  It was charming like the first one, but I thought not as imaginative—felt like all their ideas were from Mummy, Jurassic Park, or other movies.  Also lots of people (mostly guys) were watching Blue Crush, which I’d kinda wanted to see but couldn’t stay awake for.

I can’t believe HOW much I slept—on the shuttle to the airport 1 hour, in the airport 30 minutes, the flight to Osaka 2 hours, and this flight 8-9 hours, only waking here and there for meals and movies.  It’s great.  The only bad thing is neck cricks.  Northwest planes don’t have ear flaps.  That is a BIG thumbs down.  I would seriously consider switching airlines based on ear flap availability.  Let’s face it, they all have bad food.  But the ergonomic functionality of ear flaps is some major added-value those airline marketers just aren’t leveraging.

            The flights are PACKED.
