So many Hobbies so little time. I love Music, Moives, Video collecting, Karaoke, T.V, Surfing the net., and the one hobbie not media oriented: Scrabooking my family photos.
Also, just thought I would share a little info. about my screen name. A few people have asked, "why do you call yourself Giddieforjoey? First, the Joey part comes from being a fan of Joey McIntyre(NKOTB), duh? The other part comes from his first debut album, "Stay the same." There is a song on there called, "Give it up." In the song it starts out with Joey talking in a whispery voice, "Give it up girl..." Before I found out the correct lyrics, I always thought he was saying, "Giddy up girl." Plus, I also mis-spellt the word Giddy. Thought it was a bit different so it stuck. It ended up that I was really giddy for Joey anyway.
For those who do not know already: Two older Brothers, one younger bratty sis., and two nieces..
Husby and I just celebrated 10yrs. together June 25th.

Paul Rodriguez~ (DC Cab, Born in East LA.)

What's he like? Did not really get to meet him but stood by him at the airport we were both waiting for our shuttle to the hotel parking. I really wanted his autograph but there was another guy looking for a pen to get do the same thing.

They once came in and bought nothing but a cart full of junk food. I was just about to leave my shift when the checker asked me to come help her bag. Mindy Sterling~ (Fraline in both Austin Powers movies)

What's she like? Came in on an early rainy day. Kinda held her up because of a register problem, but she was very understanding. update 08/20/02 I was on my way out to take a break about 3:30 p.m and spoted her checking out our floral dept. Came back from my break and she still was walking around the store. I did about 15 minutes of express checkout before they moved me to a regular checkstand. And, as soon as I opened she came in. She asked, "are you open?" I replied with, "I sure am come on in." She came back with, "I have a big order here," I told her, "that's o.k bring it on." It was a pretty big order, but after I was finished she hands me some coupons. I found that kind of interesting considering she just cleaned up on her last movie. But, I guess even the big guys want to save a few dollars. Anyway, she still was a sweetie. I so wanted to tell her that I was at the Myers ceremony, but I did not want her to feel like she could not come to me the next time she came in. It really is kind of tricky with celebs. You have to earn their trust, and not seem so anxious, or rather, eager right away. They see through that and it just does not sit well with them. Anyway, the transaction went smoothly and I made her feel comfortable.

Vonda Shepard~ (sings theme song to Ally McBeal, 80s hit "Can't we try")

What's she like? Sweet lady she brought her kids in. Told her I loved her music and she was very appreciative she said, "oh thank you":)

Toni Basil~ (sang the song Mickey from the 80's)

What's she like? Did not really get to meet her, but Steph and I spotted her in the checkout line at our neighborhood Ralphs. Steph was going to ask for her autograph but she did not look approachable.

Kelli Williams~ (from the show The Practice)

What's she like? Came thru the express line with her newborn baby. A couple of people asked her about her baby, but don't think they noticed who she was.

Jeffrey Sams~ (Lionel in Waiting to Exhale and Kenny in Soul Food)
~Came in a few times but this is the first time he came thru my line. Very well dressed and pretty well aware of his good looks.

Sugar Ray Leonard~ (The Boxer)

What's he like? Did not come thru my line, but came thru one of our managers line with his wife.

Adam Baldwin~ (played Ricky Linderman in My Bodyguard)

What's he like? Kinda jerky. Had a disagreement regarding a wine price. Kept saying "I know".

Debbie Allen~ (from the show Fame, Oscar's choreagrapher)

What's she like? She finally came thru my line and is no longer considered, "a celeb that came in but did not check out". Looked tired but in a fairly good mood. We discussed the tabloid she was buying.

Daphne Zuniga~ (Princess Vespa in Spaceballs, Melrose Place)

What's she like? I asked her, "your Daphnie Zuniga right" and very politely with and with a smile on her face said yes.

Paul Michael Glasser~ (70's Show Starsky and Hutch)

What's he like? He came into buy pull ups. Looked tired.

June Lockhart~(Lost in Space)

What's she like? Comes in all the time. Very nice lady, but very conscientious shopper.Updated 07/09/02 She has been coming thru my line lately, and today she bought some gourmet cookies. She gave me the rest because she did not want to eat them all.

Tori Spelling~ (90210)

What's she like? Nice but kinda quiet. Couple people starred at her I can tell it made her kinda uncomfortable. She bought some junk food and barbacue stuff. Some of her snack cakes did not make her order oops! lol

Rosalind Chao~ (The Joy Luck Club)

What's she like? Comes in often with her little daughter. First time she came through my line.

Alley Mills (played Norma mother in Wonder Years)~

What's she like? Very pleasant. Came in to buy flowers with her daughter. Had a pretty red tan.

Dave Coulier~ (Joey Gladstone on Full House)

What's he like? Came in with a girl to buy beer, and let her do the full transaction they were giggling. So, did not really get to talk to him.

Robert Hedges~ (Juan Epstein in Welcome Back Kotter)

What's he like? Very cool guy! was told he comes in all the time but this was the first time he came through my line. Had a big order. Asked him, "big order today huh?" he said, "Always, I always have a bigh order". One of the most memorable customers being he was on one of my favorite shows of all time. Just could not ask him for and autograph with him being a regular customer did not want to ailienate him.updated 4/2/02Came in to buy fire wood and kind of got frustrated with himself because he did not exactly know how to use our ATM. Still a pretty cool guy.

Ricki Lee Jones~ (sang 70's song Chuckie's in love)

What's she like? When she first came thru my line all she said was "paper please." The courtesy clerk and I were talking through the transaction and she just kept quiet pretty much the whole time. She used her credit card and I read the name on it and I told her, "well Ms. Jones nice to meet you I love your music." she said, "Thank you." The courtesy clerk helped her out to her car. She did not smile but she was pleasant.

Penn Jillette~ (Magician act Penn & Teller ~the tall one~) The checker next to me helped him out. Couple of people starred at him, but he seemed o.k with it. The customer in my checktand were looking at him as he left. We started laughing because we both wanted to say something. I told the customer, "I would have said something but I did not know which one he was Penn or Teller", customer said "Yea that would have really pissed him off."

Lindsey Buckingham~ (Fleetwood Mac 9/21/01) I caught a quick glance at him when he entered my line. While I was checking out another customer I said to myself, "I am going to let him know I recognize him." So, he bought a gallon of Dryers ice cream and after I gave him his reciept I said, "you look like Lindsey Buckingham" and he gave me a smile and a nod. Then I said, "are you Lindsey Buckingham?" and he said yes and kind of gave this sheepish grin like I figured him out, but he was cool with that. I told him well nice to meet you thank you and have a good night. He came off as a cool guy.
Updated 9/22/01

Reba McIntyre~ (country singer 11/14/01) She was my first customer right after coming back from lunch. Soon as she came in through my line I knew who she was and so the first thing I said to her was "How are you Ms. McIntyre?." In that cute country accent she responded with "Im just fine." She had a pretty big grocery order so when we finally finished she looked at the other customers order. She asked about the old time milk bottles we sold she sounded pretty interested in them and I told her "You don't see those around very much anymore", and she said "No you don't." Anyway she was very pleasant and very down home.

Mr. Wood~ (Frodo The Lord of the Rings 2/12/02)
A little history first before our meeting. Wood's mother comes in quite often. Met her the first week or two before the movie was released by asking, "boy you must be a fan?." She was buying magazines with Elijah and cast of the film, and she had a button that said "Frodo Lives" on it. She said, "yes my son is in the movie" I asked, "oh yea who's your son?" She said Elijah, plus her credit card she paid with said Wood on it. So, after that day she has been coming thru my line to buy any stuff pretaining to the movie, and we comment how the film is doing etc, etc... Well, went to the movies the evening of 2/11/02 to see LOTR after trying to get into Britney Spears's new movie. Pretty bummed the whole night. Things brightend up at about 8:30 pm the next evening at work, because low and behold Mr. Wood comes through my line. We both had this grin on our faces and his beautiful big eyes just gave out this energy. So, as he finished unloading the last items (he purchased a few 4 packs of snapple ice tea and snacks)on to the conveyer belt I told him, "You would not believe it but I just saw your movie last night." He said something to the effect of "cool..." And, at that moment his friend joined us. Wood said, "This guy was in the movie too." I had this look on my face like trying to remember which character he was and his friend said, "I played the sexy one." We all had a laugh. I then told Wood's his mother comes in all the time and he said, "yea I haven't been in like since 2:30 in the morining," and I said something corney like, "your wide awake now...." With that he paid and we wished each other good evening. After that Adrian the checker next to me said, "is that the guy from LOTR?". I gave this big grin said, "yup," and gave Matt a quick call on my cell cause I was so excited. Elijah came off as very down to earth and very personable. Also, if anyone who sees LOTR or any of his movies you will see how his eyes just give out this total honesty that you don't see in many people. And, upon meeting him you will see why he played a Hobbit, because the guy is very petite in stature which tickled me silly. I was not much of a fan of his I just always thought he was just a cool actor, but I tell ya I am big fan now. Updated 2/13/02

Cindy Williams and Penny Marshall~ (Laverne and Shirley 04/05/02)
Kelly invited me to a taping of the reunion show on the Paramount lot, and although; it may have seem that we were not going earlier this week it all came out just great. Got into the taping about 5:30p.m and got out about 8:30 it ran kind of long. But, it was fun because at the end they both signed our lyric sheet of the theme song that was given to us at the beginning of the taping. Both ladies were nice to us as they signed our sheet ~Williams signed my name correctly what a trooper~. Marshall had to have a smoke during the taping break, and was slighty annoyed once in a while with the show's director. Williams was trying to be patient at the same time I can see the frustration in her face. ~Divas I tell Ya.~ Kelly won a keychain and T-shirt from making monkey noises lol. I got to ask Marshall and Williams an audience question that may be in the show. Who Knows? I will be excited if does make the show. They also gave us candy to keep us busy. We had a fun night. Updated4/06/02

Brooke ~(Suddenly Susan etc. etc. 04/08/02) Came in with her husband about 9p.m, and passed right by my checkstand. They went through Adrian's checkstand, and while the husband took care of the order she looked through a magazine. He had to tell her he was ready to leave because she was so into the magazine.Updated 04/09/02

Ozzy Osbourne~ (Heavy Metal Rocker 04/12/02) Went to Hollywood and Highland to see him get his star on the walk of fame. Don't know why I was expecting a small well tammed crowd because it was anything but. Crazy! crazy! crowd I tell ya. Ozzy's family was there, and the celebs that spoke on his behalf were Marilyn Manson, Robbie Williams. Kelly and I got separated, so, we ended up viewing this thing alone which probably was not the best idea. I ended up standing next to a lady who was being felt up by some perv. She did not even know it until LAPD undercover told her that they were trying to apprehend this guy. Plus, I ran into our good for nothing securtiy gaurd from Frailty premiere. It was a pretty interesting afternoon.

Maya Angelou~ (Poet, Civil Rights Activist 04/29/02) Busy Celeb Month I tell ya Well, I was checking as usuall, and minding my own business. I was just about to get ready to leave my shift when I catch a vision outside. I do a double take, and it was Angelou. Someone outside the store recognized her and was complementing her. She walked in with a shopping cart and passed by my checkstand. She kind of created a stir about the store, and she was not trying to be ellusive. She was not ashamed to let her presence be known. I wanted her to come through my line so I stayed on shift a bit longer, and she did come through. At the corner of my eye I caught her get in my line. So I speeded up just so I could check her out. When she came closer I said brightly, "Hi how are you?," and in that classic Maya poetry voice she said, "I am fine and how are you?" I told her I was fine, and I commented to her "a little late night shopping?" It was almost 10p.m so it was late, and she started laughing. She was with a girl age 25-30 I am not sure what the relation (daughter, assistant who knows?) They bought a fruit tray, and a couple of things I cannot remember. From the way they were dressed it looked like they were headed to a quiet gathering at someone's home. The girl stayed to complete the transaction, and told Angelou "the the driver should be out there," and so she made her way outside. After they left my next customer was very excited about meeting Angelou. I asked her "did you get to say something to her?," and she said, "I said hi." We both made a comment about how we like her work. I was excited, and thought Angelou was a pleasant woman with a big presence. So, glad I got the chance to meet her. Updated 04/29/02

Owen Wilson~ (Meet the Parents, The Royal Tenenbaums 05/09/02) It was about 4:30p.m. I had just started my shift. I am checking in the express lane, and he comes through wearing a ball cap looking kinda sweaty. I immediately recognized him. But, I had to get a good look at his nose to make sure he had the bulb at the end, and he did. I asked if he had a club card, and very nicely he said, "no." I did not take it further than that. I wanted to tell him I recognized him, but, I totally forgot his name. I swear as soon as he left his name popped in my head. Anyway, he was a cool guy.
Updated 05/09/02

Flora Alekseyeun~ (Real World Miami 05/10/02) Did not recognize her at first because she had blonde hair. When her order was just about done I said to her, "Your Flora from Real World," and in a funny way she nodded, and rolled her eyes (in a good way). We talked a bit, and she told me she's been living in LA for four years. I also asked her how she liked LA, and she said she really doesn't like it. I agreed with her. I can tell she can have that Flora attitude, but I also believe that it's an act and on a whole she came off as decent person.Updated 5/11/02

Ethan Hawke~ (Training Day, Reality Bites 05/12/02) A couple of courtesy clerks first asked me, "Guess who just walked in the door?" and when they said who it was I got kind of excited. In my mind I was saying, "How much you want to make a bet he comes through my line," and about a good twenty minutes later he did. First, he did an annoying thing that customers do, and that is unload their groceries, and leave the checkstand to get more items. When he came back I said hello, and he said hello back. He also previously left his wallet on the counter, and when I was about to pick it up to move it out of the way he kind of grabs it quickly. I just thought it was one of those things he did that was wierd. It was like he was saying, "don't take that." Anyway, I asked him if he had a club card he said, "no." So, as I completed the order and we wished each other good day. That was that. He was a nice guy, but he just seemed a little quirky, and a little out of it. Updated 05/12/02

David Cassidy~ (The Partridge Family)
Got to the signing at Virgin Mega Store on Sunset about 4:15 ,and I waited in line with some interesting people. Cassidy arrived on time, which I tought was cool cause I was out there for almost three hours. So, when I got closer I was getting pretty excited. And then, it was my turn. I asked, "Hi how are you David?", he replied with , "I am just fine." Gave him my CD to sign ,and he asked, "What's your name?", and I spelled it out for him. And, as I spelled it out for him he was wrote it out, he then said, "excuse me I am getting old here can't even write or spell anymore." After I reasured him that he got the spelling right he then said, "yea I'm getting old at this," I told him, "it's o.k because your CD is goooood," and he said with a smile "why thank you." After that, I exchanged email with a guy who took my picture while I was signing. And, who's picture I also took while he was signing. But, if your saying to yourself, "Woo Hoo." No worries everyone becuase the guy I exchanged email with was gay so, no problem there. That was my adventure with Cassidy he was a cool guy. I knew he would be.Updated 05/16/02

Joey McIntyre~ (NKOTB OF COURSE 05/23/02) First, Joey was at least 20 min. late for his concert at the Viper Room. Now, twenty min. may not seem like a like a long time, but it is a long time considering fans stand outside the club a while. Then have to stand and wait more inside the club. Plus, the dude has all day to prepare for tonight. Anyway, enough of the bitterness. All was forgiven because JM gave one of the most intimate shows I have ever been. He opens with, "Stay the same." After a few songs he finally sings my favorite "I love you came to late." He then tells the bouncer standing on the stage to cut back take it easy. He says, "I know some weird shit has been known to have happen here at the Viper room: Drugs, sex what have you. But, not my fans." We all cheered! Anyway, couple of minutes later I figure I am tired of standing, plus no one was sitting there. I decide to sit on the stage stairs. So, I am sitting there and Joey says to me between songs, "You got a pretty good seat there." I then give him two thumbs up. Then he decides to pull his stool right near me. So near his shoe was almost in my mouth. He then sings Sinatra's "When somebody loves you" to my side of the room. Man I wanted to grab his leg, but I refrained I was being a good girl. A couple of minutes later he sang one of my all time favorite songs "Landslide" by Stevie Nicks. I was melting. Now, the concert is over and he leaves the stage and I kind of wait a little by the stage. His roadie was putting Joey's guitar back and I yelled to the guy, "Hey, could you do me a favor? Could I have Joey's glass that he drank out of?" He said sure and he gave me the glass. So, I have the glass that Joey actualy drank out of on stage. "Woo Hoo!" But, almost did not get out of the club with it, because the bouncer gave me grief. As I was heading out the door he says, "Can't let you leave the club with that," my eyes widened and said, "Joey let me have this come on." ~So, it wasn't Joey~ Anyway, I was not leaving without the glass, and the bouncer knew it. I was even offering the guy money. So, the guy said, "O,k go empty whatever is in the glass, but don't let me see you with it." I then went to dump the water out and put the glass in my pocket. Walked out the door, and as I went by the bouncer I said, "Good night," and he smiled. Now, I was going to drink the water instead, but that's all I need was cooties from all the girls Joey's had his lips on. O.k I was just being a little too germy, but "can you blame me?" Anyway, the glass is in my possesion now, and I had a great time.Updated 05/30/02

Constance Marie~ (J.Lo's mom in Selena, Mi Familia 05/29/02) She first asked, "Do you guys take Ralph's card,?" and I told her no. She also opened a sparkling water and proceeded to drink it before paying for it. Which is fine. But, she did not like the taste. She asked if she still had to pay for it. "Duh?" I thought that was stupid of her to do, but I offered to trade her for a different flavor, and she agreed. She also asked if I ever tried this drink before and I said, "Honestly no I haven't." So, we didn't have the flavor she wanted so I just said that's fine well just consider this a sample. She said thank you and purchased her two fire logs she had. Nice girl but, "c'mon."Updated 06/05/02She came in again today and I swear she still asked if we had any sparkiling water I said, "Do you mean like Peligrino or Perier.? She replied with, "anything." So, I told a courtesy clerk to to take her to the water. Nice lady, but still don't know what she wants.

Concert~ WANGO TANGO (Pasadena Rose Bowl 06/15/02)
Concert Acts: Vanessa Carlton, Nick and Aaron Carter, O Town, The Calling, Host Jennifer Love Hewitt, Paulina Rubio, Rick Dees and Scooby Doo, Kelly Osbourne, Marc Anthony, Craig David, Alanis Morrisette, Pink, Steven Tyler, Celine Dion, No Doubt. Acts heard but not seen: Mary J. Blige, Wil Smith, Jessica Simpson, Michelle Branch, Ja Rule, Ashanti.
Well, Audra (Co-worker) and I arrived about 1:30, which we're told that's when the first act went on. But, had learned India Arie had already been on, and as we were going to our seat Vanessa Carlton was already performing. Our seats were not bad but we headed up to the top of the stadium because that's were the shade was, still, the sun which was already felt by hiking from the car to the stadium. Let's say it was about mid to high 90s. Now, we didn't want to loose our seats so we both took turns throughout the day saving seats. Every act did a superb job all except one: Kelly Osbourne. She was off key from the moment she started and just could not seem to catch on. She stayed with the music, but I think her voice was not well trained, and neither was she when it came to listening to herself through stadium speakers. I believe she was pushed into a venue that she definitely was not ready for. Now, let's talk about my headache. Basically feeling fine the whole day, but almost immediately after lunch my head was getting to the point where listening to the music was getting un-bearable. That started basically when Alanis Morrisette began her act. Not that she was nauseating, but I just had to go outside the stadium. At this time I am sitting in the shade trying to get it together. Then that wave of nausea hit me and I started to look for a place to heave, and I found it. We won't go there. So, feeling a bit better, and Pink has already started on stage but, my head was not quite up to the noise. I said to myself, "I am not going to miss this," so, I held it together and stood and watched Pink perform. The rest of the concert was spent in and out of my seat. Anytime the music got too hard on my head I left. It's dark now and much cooler; it's time for the group "No Doubt." She rocked! By this time I am better, but now I am tired. So, lucky for me when I asked Audra did she want to leave after No Doubt she was in total agreement. The concert had about a good 45 minutes more so we managed to beat traffic. The concert on a whole was excellent I just wished it wasn't so darn hot. Updated 06/20/02

Julie Andrews~ (Sound of Music 06/24/02) Husby and I spent a wonderful evening at LA restaurant Spago to celebrate our 8th Anniversary. We had a small wait before getting our table, but it was worth the wait, because the food was fantastic. I had the roast duck with a shrimp tempura salad, and husby had the oysters as an appetizer and veal as the main course. Dessert was superb. We both shared what they called Chocolate and Cherries delight, and it tasted out of this world. So, after taking pictures we headed out to wait for the valet to bring the car around. Matt was outside and I waited inside because it was chilly. Matt came in and said, "Guess who's out there Julie Andrews?" Immediately I followed him outside. As we went outside she was getting into some mid-size black car. It looked like a BMW, but could have been a Mercedes. Anyway, so I got to see her as she got into her car and was driven away by an unrecognizable male. She did not look like she was trying to hurry away, she was cool and calm. Also, another patron who was waiting with us said sarcasticly, "OMG I was standing near Julie Andrews!" What a dork. If I had been out there sooner I would have asked for a picture with her. So, we got in our car and drove away. Husby and I said when Andrews was leaving; we should have stood outside her car and sang with hand gestures and all, "So long, farewell, auf Wiedersehen, good night ....."

Peter Noone~ (60's group Herman's Hermits sang Henry the 8th 07/01/02) Husby and I are in Santa Barbara still celebrating are anniversary with a weekend get away. We stopped in for breakfast at Sambos, (a very old restaurant with a controversial past.) And, we decide for an outside table so we can keep and eye on Frodo the dog. While we are eating I catch the eye of a shaggy haired gentleman, and as he passed by our table I hear him talking on the cell phone with a British accent. He was saying, "why don't we meet....," and before I could pull him over to meet him he was gone. So, it was a quick celeb encounter but I rather enjoyed it.

Phylicia Rashad~ (Cosby Show 07/03/02)
After being written up at work for tardiness, my day was pretty much a downer. So, about 6:30p.m I get a pleasant surprise visit from Mrs. Rashad. She was very cordial, said Hello, thank you, and such. She was dressed like she just came from a mean day of shopping. She was a bit out of it. You know that feeling you get when you are talking to someone, and they are in their own little world. As nice and sweet as she was I just had that impression. Anyway, she was still sweet.

Mike Myers~ (SNL, Austin Powers 07/24/02)
Husby and I thought we would brave the heat, and watch Myers get his star on the walk of fame. Mr. Grant headed the event, as always, and speakers were producer Jeffrey Katzenberg and a representative from chamber of commerce. Pretty short speeches. Which was just as well because it was hot out there, "the shorter the better." Other celebrities at the ceremony: Robert Wagner, Mindy Sterling, David Foley, Dir.Jay Roach. ~There may have been other celebs there, but they were the only ones I was able to see.~ After that, Husby and I enjoyed lunch at the Hollywood/Highland mall. So, aside for a few inconsiderate paprazzi we had a fun time. It gave us a chance to use that excellent camera we have. Oh! can't forget, we ran into fellow stalkers Kelly (a.k.a Diva) and friend. Plus, one very special thanks to that photographer from channel 13 who so graciously took my camera, and took a nice Myers picture for me. Hope I run into you again sometime! You are "Da Bomb!"

Paula Poundstone~ (comedian 07/25/02) I was on my lunch hour and decided to head to the nearest Baskin Robins. I got my ice cream, and as I was leaving she was coming in. We both made eye contact and I said surprisingly, "Hi how are you?," and she responded very pleasantly, "I'm fine, how are you?" She was with two children one in a stroller and the other child was walking. She also was with another lady who seemed to be holding back. She was not helping Poundstone, just observing. So, "who knows?" Don't know if anyone recalls, but just recently Poundstone was arrested for child endangerment, and lewd acts with a minor. Not sure, but I believe she cleared the lewd act charges, and did some alcohol rehab time. Anyway, certainly the most controversial celeb I have bumped into.Updated 07/28/02

Kobe Bryant~ (LA Lakers 08/27/02) Came in about 8p.m and caused some excitement among the many Laker fans in the store. One of our guys from the meat department was brave enough to ask for an autograph on Bryant's way out. But to his disappointment was told, "Not right now." Bryant was "not" surrounded by a crowd, and I felt a quick autograph would not have been a huge inconvienence. And, I could tell by the meat dept. guy's face he was truly disappointed. He said, "aawww shot down by Kobe." I am going to go out on a limb right now, but that is one of the reasons I do not like the Lakers. The team goes around with this attitude that they are the shit. I have seen interviews and how they blame each other when they lose. The team, though great ball players, just does not really represent the spirit of the game.Updated 09/02/02

American Idol~(09/04/02)

The only way I can describe the event, three words, COOLEST NIGHT EVER ! I invited sis 'o mine to come and seatfill with me. So, she came down and off we go. They shuffle us into the lovely Kodak theater, and we both sat right near the entrance.
Here is list of people we saw enter:
Natalie Cole- Singer
Ray Romano- Everybody loves Raymond
Gabrielle Carteris- 90210
Valarie Bertinelli- Sporting a new short hair cut. Can't believe she cut it!
David Faustino- Married with Children
Shiela E.- musician
Billy Boyd~ Pippin in the Lord of the Rings. "Hog Heaven I tell Ya !"
Nancy Odell~ Access Hollywod
Alex Band~ Lead singer of "The Calling."
Jennifer Sky~Zenia Warrior Princess
Couple of cast members from "Mad T.V"
Shannon Elizabeth~American Pie

People we met:
Coolio- Rapper. Introduced ourselves, and he asked where we were from. Cool guy.lol
Kato Kaelin- Famous house guest. Totally working the house. And, so were sis and I. lol
Contestant Justin Guarini's Father- Very cool man. He said, "Small people gonna rule the world." I responded with, "you got that right." And, he also gave May and I a big hug.
Alyson Hannigan- Told her, "My husband loves you." She said, "Oh wow thank you." When we got home Matt went crazy.

Paula Abdul story: Mayette and I decided to go to the bathroom during the comercial break. Mayette got in line, and I washed my hands. But, the automatic faucet was not working for me so I was going down the line testing each one. While that was going on a couple of the girls kind of give out a loud shreek. Then I checked to see what was going on. Looked at the line and saw no one. In my mind I was thinking, "why were they sreaming? there were no celebs in here." So, I yelled underneath the stall, "May I am going to go get a Sprite," she responded, "o.k." So, we both make it back to our seats, and she tells the guy sitting next to us that she just ran into Paula Abdul. I interrupt her immediately and said, "Where?" She says, "in the bathroom, didn't you see her?" I say no, and she tell me that's what we all were yelling for. Then sis proceeds to tell me that Paula asked, "are you guys in line?" my sister freaked and said, "oh my god, yes, but go ahead." So, my sis let Paula Abdul pee before her. And, while all that was going on some little girl was showing me how to use the automatic faucets. lol

The cast of American Idol passed right by our seats during the performance. I thought that was pretty cool. But, most of all, finding out who the winner was before most west coast people was pretty cool. Anyway, great event to end the summer.

Jennifer Grey~ (Dirty Dancing 09/10/02) Recognized her right away. But for some reason, I kept checking out her fairly new nose. I personally think she should have kept the old one. It gave her face character. Anyway, she bought baby stuff, and the customer before her knew each other, so they gabbed about nannies, etc, etc... Updated 09/10/02

The Other Half~ (09/13/02) Kelly, my fellow celeb hound, invited me to a taping because Donny Osmond was suppose to be guest. But, for whatever reason did not make our taping. :( Anyway, after taking a nice walk around the NBC lot in the nice hot Burbank sun; we finally reach our destination point. Let's just say that the word for the day would be (disorganized.) We are now in the wonderful air-conditioned studio. Unfortunately, Kelly and I are too hot to even make up studio audience questions to get on camera, so we ended up spectating the show. The show contained a gossip columnist from The National Enquire, an author on how cheating can be good, and an AIDS activist, plus a fasion show. It was nice seeing hosts Dick Clark, Danny Bonaduce, Mario Lopez, and Dorian Gregory up close. The whole experience was an adventure, I will say that, and hey we did catch a glimpse of our mugs on national T.V. Plus, some crew member left a show script at my feet, so I got a script as souvenir. Woo Hoo!
(Updated 09/28/02)

Jackie Chan~ (Rush Hour 10/04/02)
Husby and I hauled our cameras to get the latest scoop. It was a nice size crowd; not too big, not too small. I had a pretty good view because I managed to squeeze my way up front. Being petite has it's advantages and disadvantages. Today was an advantage :) People sometimes look at me and go, "Oh she can't see why don't you come up front where you can see." Anyway, back to our story. As we wait for the ceremony to start this asian girl starts yelling something in her native tounge. I think she was an obsessed fan because she kept yelling the same words for about five minutes. The whole crowd kept looking at her. So, Johnny Grant finally opens the ceremony and introduces "Rush Hour 1&2" director Brett Ratner, then introduces cutie Owen Wilson. Wilson gave a pretty cool speech on how Chan is a great guy to work with. Next, it's time for Chan's to speak, and it was pretty cool the way he said how he dreamed long ago that he wished he would get his star on the walk of fame. So, he was very excited to finally get one. After the ceremony he did not really have time to go through the crowd to give autographs, but managed to please everyone by just going through the crowd and giving high fives. I managed to get one in. After the ceremony husby and I had some sushi at our old hangout down Wilshire, and headed to Santa Monica for some errands. And where our day contiues.

Natalie Imbruglia~ (singer of pop hits "Torn", and "Wrong Impression" 10/04/02)
After the Chan ceremony husby wanted to check out some Vespa motor bikes, where we run into another celeb Ann Marie Martin (Gwen Davies) from "Days of Our Lives." I know this because I was a Days watching fool in the "80's." As we make our way down to the Promenade (here is a stinker of a story) we stop to check out these baby kittens that some girl from an animal shelter organization is watching. She also has a small dog with her, and I politely ask the girl, "what kind of dog is that?" She did not answer, thinking that she did not hear me, I asked the question politely again. She comes back with an attitude, "It's just a cute...(pause)terrier mix." So, husby and I walked on, and as we walked on, we start to discuss how rude that was of her, and it got to the point where it was ruining our pleasant afternoon. So, I figured she needed to know she was rude, and I needed to vent. On our way back we stopped right by her side where she could hear me, I said, "You know her job must suck so bad because she has to sit on the corner babysitting dogs and cats." Anyway, I felt better so we went into the store "Urban Outfitters." I found some cool drinking glasses, and got in line to purchase them. Out of the blue this dark haired girl with an Aussie Accent asks, "are you in line?" She had a arm full of clothes. Still with my pleasant demeanor responded with, "yes." She got into a shorter line with some guy she knew, and I realized who she was. I was going to approach, but she was ready to check out. I think the L.A area needs to learn some manners from some of our foriegn visitors.

Joey McIntyre~ (email me if you don't know who he is, and then I can slam you for not knowing.) Another concert by dear ole' Joey, this time at LA's Key Club on Sunset. Husby and I relaxed at the top of the club while Joey entertained. I thought that was very very cool. Thanks for joining me Husby ! So, then we finished our drinks and food, and we headed down stairs to get a better look. This was Husby's first time seeing Joey in concert so, it was pretty interesting to him to see what his wife has been hooing and hawing for all these years. Joey's concert was pretty much same as last, but he played a few new songs. He entertained us with a cheesy Thanksgiving song which kind of got you in the mood, but never heard from him, so we all were just going, "uhhh yea?" Interesting thing of the night was running into a fellow fan that I go a few years back with. We met via internet because we both found out that we met Joey for the first time at Great America (Sunnyvale Ca.) in 1999. We knew what each other looked like, but never had met so I thought that was pretty exciting. It had been a long time since we spoke, but it was cool finally meeting someone face to face. Well, the night went very pleasantly, and I eagerly await the next Joe Mac event. Updated 11/10/02

Kelly Osbourne~ (MTV Series 11/30/02)
Husby and I make it an early day by arriving at Tower records on Sunset about 9am. We buy Kelly's CD and receive a flyer with instructions on today's CD signing. One of the instructions said not to be on the lot until 12p.m so, we went to have breakfast at McDonalds down the street. Now, 11a.m rolls around and we decide to make our way back to Tower to find parking, plus, walk around the area till noon. As we pass Tower we notice a line had already formed. It was as very upseting to see the line form already considering what the paper said. So, we lined up too and I asked husby to save my place while I go and get my CD in the car. As I come back from the car Tower security had the asked the line to leave the lot and go form across the street. People then began to get into it about who was first. So, this girl who was already lined up way before husby and I got there, we decided to talk to Tower security, and he said, "I could care less where we are outside the lot, but you can not line up on the lot till noon" So, we kept this info to ourselves, and come noon we were the first in line. Then some guy starting yelling that we girls need to go to the back of the line...Blah blah blah. At that moment security rescued us and formed the line behind us. "We win!" Anyway, now that was over we stood next to some over aged guy who never had a girlfriend type stalker. He kept rambling on about how he was going to ask for a hug, and a peck on the cheek etc... So, Kelly arives on time at 2p.m and this stalker guy starts getting hormonal on us, and starts saying, "she looks like a Snow White pop princess." All of us kind of look at each other and scratch our heads. Anyway, not long after that we are ushered into meet Kelly. This stalker guy wants me to hold his coat, and I said, "no I have my own coat to hold," and then he asks security, and they also say no. You will see in the pictures how security is keeping an eye on him. Finally my turn and we say hello to each other, and she signs my CD, and we take a picture together. I say, "thank you very much, and congratulations on your CD." She smiles pleasantly and thanks me. The next evening I am on my way home listening to Kiss 102.7, and Kelly Osbourne is talking about how these girls video taped this weirdo who was totally obsessing while in line at her CD signing. She was totally creeped out, but glad she had security with her. Very adventureous afternoon I would say. I can always depend upon Osbourne fans to make for an interesting afternoon.
pictures are still up and available for your viewing pleasure in the "My photo album" section

Joey McIntyre~(Wayne Brady Show taping 12/03/02) Joe Mac back to back I can't stand it. The three of us Kelly, Janine, head on over to CBS studios in LA about 4p.m. The evening started out with Janine being chosen to participate in giving trivia pursuit questions to Brady during the show. Which was cool because as her enterauge we get seated early with her. Our seats were fine, good enough to see everything going on, and seated pretty close to where Joey was going to sing. Henry Winkler was the first guest, then some guy from "Just Shoot me," then a girl from "24." She was pretty openly lusting after Brady, and right in front of his pregnant wife who sat not too far from us. Now it's time for Joey, and he and his musical partner Eman Kiriakou sing a beautiful new song which will be on the next album. During the interview a discussion about Eman's name went on a bit long, and Brady gives Joey a CD signed by Cindi Lauper in honor of his B-Day coming up soon. Also, Joey covers Time after Time in his concerts so he was very thankful for the CD. Next, Brady and Joey decide to sing out the show with Sinatra's "fly me to the moon." Three takes had to be done because of screwing the words up, and on the last take Joey flubs the words again, and decides to use the word "S!@#" Brady immediately reminds him in a light hearted manner that a little boy brought his friends to come see his show on his birthday, plus, there were other kids in the audience. So, Joey was truly embarrassed, and apologetic, and the professional that he is managed to get through the song. Now, aside from sitting next to some nosy but nice girls, and a bit on the obnoxious side, the taping went smooth. We three girls also decided to head on over to Maccaroni Grill in Thousand Oaks for a bite to eat. It was really nice to get out and make it a ladies night once in a while. Updated 2/05/02

John Waite~ (80''s song Missing You 12/12/02)
Helped him out in express checkout. Actually he has come through my line many times, and always recognized him, but just could never be sure it was him. This time he paid with a credit card with his name right on it. Very cool guy with a Brit. accent.

KIIS 102.7 Jingle Ball concert at Arrowhead Pond in Anahiem~ (12/19/02) Guest: Kelly Osbourne, Avril Lavigne, Destiney's Child, Paul Okenfold, The Goo Goo Dolls, Nick Carter, Kylie Minogue, and special guest Justin Timberlake and Mariah Carey.
The evening started with husby and I picking up the free tickets at will call. Tickets were scored by me just two days before by being caller 102 Woo Hoo ! First two acts were Paul Okenfold (Stary eyed surprise) and Kelly Osbourne (Papa Don't Preach): Both sucked. Their bands were better than they were. Osbourne did better than last time (Wango Tango), but her voice still is not strong enough. Next, Nick Carter, he was more polished and had more stage presence. But, his silly antics with trying to tear up the stage left something to be desired. For Example; throwing the artificial poinsettia's into the audience, knocking over speakers, and literaly trying to knock down one of the main stage pilars. "Yea Right!" Just plain silly but, enjojed watching him. Timberlake did very well, considering his broken foot. He was the one I really wanted to see because I had never seen him in concert. (Came home literaly wanting to do some of his dance moves.) After that, Rick Dees came out with Santa's helpers and with these air guns, shot free t-shirts into the audience. I did not catch one, but thought it was very cool because these things shot T-shirts way out there for everyone in the stadium to catch. There also was a visit from Ming Na (tv show ER). She came out with Rick Dees to introduce an Asian act she's producing. Forgot the name of the group, sorry. I just learned the name of the group. The name of the group is "At Last". (Updated 10/30/03)Anyway, they did a song in aucapela. Next, Husby's favorite was Avril Lavigne. She has a nice voice for concerts, clear and loud enough to hear, she did great. You should have seen plenty of the girls walking around with their shirt and ties trying to look like Avril. Too funny! Then, Destiney's Child came on like pros singing (Independent Woman.) What can I say about these girls but, totally professionals. Now, during Kelly Rowland's song "Dilema" (no, Nelly was not there.) We decided we need some food so, we went into the lobby and wolfed down Der'Weinerschnetzel hot dogs. Surprisingly, I must have been hungry because I beat husby in finishing mine. After that we decided we needed to recover from our nose bleeds given to us by our seats. So, during The Goo Goo Dolls performance we snuck on ground level. Man, it was a whole new experience viewing it from that level. Plus, The Goo Goo Dolls rocked the house with all their songs. Loved em, and so did husby. Mariah Scary, I mean Mariah Carey, she came on with much fan fare, but, she did great. Sang two songs, "Through the rain," and finished with a holiday didy that got everyone in the mood, "All I want for Christmas is you." Was not really excited to see her, but glad we stayed to check her out. They blasted fake snow during her song which was pretty cool. Well, time for Kylie Minogue, Not! We rushed out because we believe in getting through traffic rather than staying for some lil Aussie woman. Heard she only sang two songs anyway, nothing missed.lol Ran into some major rain on the way home, but Concert was fun, what can I say.

Jakob Dylan~ (lead singer of The Wallflowers, and son of Bob Dylan 12/27/02)
I heard he comes in all the time, but have never seen him before. He came in with a beany on, and he had his young son with him who is the spiting image. I saw them come in the door, but was not sure it was him until he paid with a credit card. They shopped very quickly and managed to have a full cart. Very fast shoppers. It was real cute, because while I checked their groceries the son was asking Jakob about the astrological scrolls we sell. He asked, "Dad what are these?", Dylan, "They are astrology scrolls..," Son, "What are they for?" Dylan, "They are like fortune cookies." Son, "Will they hurt you?" Dylan, "I hope not." We kind of smiled while his son asked all the questions. The son was at that questioning age and I just thought it was too cute to see them interacting together. I just kind of wondered what kind of dad Bob Dylan was to Jakob. Anyway, Jakob Dylan was a pretty cool down to earth kind of guy.Updated 12/29/02

Jessica Biel~ (7th Heaven 02/06/03) She comes in all the time, and I believe she has come through my line before, but never placed her. She had quite a huge order, and she was nice. I have nothing bad to say about her.
(Updated 02/09/03)

Maria Shriver~ (wife of Schwarzenegger 02/09/03) Did not come through my line, but came in line next to me. She was with her son. Also, another employee said Arnold was in the store somewhere. Did not get to say anything to her. Boooo

TV Land Red Carpet (arrivals for the award show 03/02/03)
Kelly (fellow Celeb hound) and I made our way to the historical Palladium theater down Sunset LA. Although, I had to work after the event and, the weather turned chilly toward the end, I am glad I made this one. There were plenty of celebs on the red carpet so I am just going to give this list of those I saw, but still many others came. Some down the red carpet, and some not. For instance; Halle Barry was at the event, but I did not see her on the carpet. Anyway, things began with Martin Mull (Roseanne) coming up to the bleachers to tape his spot right above Kelly and I. (Show airs March 12th ). We will see if we got our noggins on T.V. Keep an eye out. Another fun part of the day is when impersonators (Snoop Dogg and Anna Nicole Smith) came to be part of the bleachers. Kelly and I thought it would be fun so we took a picture with Anna. (Pics coming soon !) Plus, Bernie Kopell (Doc from Love Boat) came up to greet the fans. Thought that was very nice of him. Cheesy part of the day when a lady volunteered to sing the theme from Gilligan's Island. Lady was kind of nervy she did not even know all the words. (Give me a break) The audience also tried to sing the theme to the Jeffersons, but kind of got lost in the translation. Also, a Fire Marshall kind of made it difficult for the production staff. Especially for one staff member who we will call "witchy." She guarded her side of the bleachers very well I would say. But, in the wake of that awful night club fire in Rhode Island, I can tell the Fire Marshalls surrounding the joint were trying to prevent that same situation. So, we should be thankful to them for looking after our safety. Anyway, still had a fun time at my first red carpet. Now, here is the list. The Osbournes~(DVD First Season Signing 03/04/03)Husby and I drove down to Virgin Megastore on Sunset. Then proceeded very cool and quietly to the end of the line with DVD's in hand. Our wait was not really long at all because we passed the time talking with this real estate guy, and before we knew it we were in the building. First person to sign our DVD's is Ozzy. One word "VACANT." I said brightly, "Hello Ozzy," and I was given a wide grin. Sharon was next to sign and she was very socialable. And, in her British accent, she asked the real estate guy in front of us, "Is this your family?" and he responded with, "no it only looks that way." We all laughed cause the guy was asian too and we did kind of look like a family. Sharon asked, as she signed my DVD, "how are you doing?" I told her, "I am fine, I am thawing out right now, It's cold out there." She responded with, "It is cold out isn't it?" Next, Kelly signed, I said, "Hi Kelly how are you?, we were at your CD signing." She said, "oh hey, I remember you guys." (We were the first couple of people in line at her signing) I told her we were the ones in back of that weirdo and she said, "yea, he is the one that asked me to marry him, can't believe that." I told her he was a weirdo alright, and as I said that Jack was signing my DVD. I said, "Hi Jack," and got no responce. So, either he didn't hear me or he was being a dork. Matt did thank Jack for signing his DVD and Jack said, "thanks man take it easy..." Overall, Matt and I had a nice time meeting the Osbournes and, we were very pleased Kelly remembered us. Then I realized that after watching the series I shouldn't really be that surprised she remembered. Throughout the show Kelly was the one always telling these stories of the people she met. It may seem like shes not but, she is very observant of the people around her. Anyway, at this time Husby and I are hungry so, we immediately drove to The Cheesecake Factory in Sherman Oaks. (One of our favorite restaurants.) And, we ended our dinner by sharing a delicious piece of chocolate rasberry torte. One cannot leave Cheesecake Factory without dessert, it is a given. "FUN NIGHT :)" BTW, the signed DVD is available for viewing in my "MY PHOTO ALBUM" section under "Yvette's Album"

~Jay Leno (Tonight Show 03/10/03) After a matinee viewing of Kevin Spacey's "The Life of David Gale" Kelly and I decide to go check out celeb guest coming out of Leno's show taping. We initially were there to try to see Benicio Del Toro, much to no avail. But, Kel spots Leno in one of his many cars, and he stops to sign some autographs. Thought that was cool of him. I am the last to approach the car, he autographs my paper, and he graciously thanks me for coming to the show, (even though I didn't.) I have been to his show a couple of times, but never got his autograph so, glad I got the chance this time. BTW, I scaned his autograph in the "My photo album's" section under "Yvette's Album" if you want to take a look at it. He draws a quick portrait of himself when he autographs (How cute is that.)

Husby scores tickets at the last minute for this event. So last minute we almost did not get tickets for the sold out event,(made available via email for Fox employees only. So, being that Husby is an employee and I being the Mrs. on to the event we go. Husby picks me up after work, and we head on over the Santa Monica Crossroads High school gym, and as soon as we walk in the celeb players are warming up to pop/hip hop tunes, and so I pull out my camera and start snaping away at the guys doing their layout. Love this type of event because cameras were allowed. The players go back into the locker room, and then later introduced. But, like all sporting events the National Anthem must be sung and, Jessica Simpson does an excellent job. Nick Lachey, her new hubby, I am sure was proud. The celebs are divided into two teams, Malcolm in the Middle and the Cody Banks team. Muniz switches at half time and manages to play on both teams, (a classy move.) First half of the game is played with plenty of excitement, and all the guys played pretty good for celebs. Next, the half time show a local dance group performs, and then Lalaine from Disney's "Lizzie Maguire" sings some cheesy pop song she is trying to push. Also, they give Muniz a gift for organizing the event, and for being the foundation's "Good Will Ambassador." Plus, the organization gives his mother Denise a gift for all her help, then the whole team takes a group picture. O.k now here comes the fun part. About 10 min after the second half of the game began I am getting some shots at the sidelines, (which is allowable) while husby is sitting at our seats. The game gets close to me, now, I am not taking pictures at the time I am just watching the game, and just like in slow motion the ball gets passed my way by Donald Faison (Scrubs), and as Arlen Escarpeta from (American Dreams) is trying to get the ball he backs into me and knocks me down. LOL It kinda hurt but, it all becomes better when Escarpeta helps me up with his sweaty hands and graciously ask, "are you o.k ?" I responded with yes. Then one of the event coordinators pointed toward the bleachers and said with a smile on her face, "maybe you should stand over there." Being a little embarrassed, I gave her this look of, "yea your right," and there is where I stayed for the rest of the game. The game was less than two hours, and throughout the night they gave some free stuff away, and played a few games with the audience. So, actually the teams had plenty of rest time in between all the fun. The pooper of the evening was Chris Kirkpatrick who played just a couple of quarters and sat it out for a good portion of the game. When it was time for Muniz to switch to the other team Kirkpatrick hung out on the other side, and warmed up with the opposing team. It was like he did not like his team mates or did not want to leave Muniz's side or something. Whatever ? The game was totally fun, and a very nice way to spend indoors considering the nasty rainy weather that had gone on all day. Plus, how often does one get knocked on her ass in front of a bunch of celebs ?

~Oscar Night at the Rumba Room (Universal Studios City Walk) 03/23/03
Husby and I make it back from the Bay Area about 4p.m so, we barely had enough time to get dressed for our Oscar event. The event gave us free valet parking so we just zoomed in. At check in we gave them our ballot to predict the oscar winners, and then proceeded to the food. It was a mexican buffet: Mini burritos, Chips and Salsa, Shish Kebabs, Cheese and Crackers, Fruit, Taquitos, and though not a mexican dish, they also served Armenian Sandwiches, huh? Needless to say, the food was great. It's time for the Oscars.

Fun parts of the show:
1.) Halle Berry getting smooched hard by (Best Actor) winner Adrien Brody
2.)Zeta-Jones and Latifah singing "I move on" What happened Renee? Too afraid to sing in front of all those people? Scared they might find out you can't sing live?
3.)Also loved, Adrien Brody's emotional acceptance speech. Very touching and poignant moment of the evening.
4.) Michael Moore's (Bowling for Columbine) acceptance speech. Just loved how he got everyone riled up. Could have done it a bit less aggressive, but it was a speech no one would forget. (Love Martin's Teamster joke afterward)
5.) Martin's monologue.
6.) Favorite Winners: Zeta-Jones-(Best Supporting Actress, Eminem-(Best Song Lose yourself), Chicago-(Best Movie)
7.) Fun part of the night was me winning a big tote bag from Paramount Studios filled with baseball cap, frisby, beach towel, two t-shirts, (all with the Paramount logo on it) and, a fun guide for the best of L.A. Plus, Husby won four free movie tickets for the theater of his choice. Woo Hoo!

Bad Parts of the show:
Nicole Kidman's acceptance speech. (Peeuu)

That really is the only thing I did not like about the show, Overall; the show's pace was fine, and the mood was not as somber as I thought it was going to be. Glad the producers still wanted to air the show. Thought it was mean to eliminate the red carpet audience. I mean what have been the harm. They have everyone's private information who was going to be on that red carpet. Well, all things aside, it was fun to watch this years show with a crowd because you get to see all the reactions and chow down at the same time. So, who knows? We would not mind doing this event it again next year.

~NBC SOAP OPERA FAN FEST (Kristen Alfonso {[Hope], Peter Reckell [Bo] Both from Days of our Lives Sun April 6,2003)
Beautiful day for Audra (Co-worker)and I to head out to Hollywood & Highland and check out some of our favorite soap stars. These were only NBC Soaps (Passions & Days of Our Lives.) I actually don't watch either one since DAYS story lines have not interested me in a while. I watch Young and the Restless on CBS. But, in the eighties I was a huge DAYS fan and really only wanted to meet Peter Reckell and Kristen Alfonso, and I finally did. Gracious people but, not gracious enough to sign our names. All the other soap stars took time to sign our names :( I thought they were doing themselves a dis-favor by not signing names considering EBAY hounds won't buy signatures with someone elses name on it. Anyway, Audra is a Passions fan (I for one can't stand the show) I stood in line with her to meet other cast members of the show. I did not get their autographs except for one guy named Justin Hartley. He was a little hottie so I took a picture with him. I asked can we take a picture together and he said, "sure if you can send me a copy too." I laughed it off and we took a picture together and then I replied with, "so I send it to www.justin.com." We were laughing, and he said, "actually I don't have a web site." What a flirt. I went away thinking, "ahh if I were only ten years younger." Earlier, while Audra waited in line for Justin Hartley's signature I went shopping for a bit. I went into this store called Hot Topic where they played the loudest head banging music and, the thought that went through my mind was, "how could people listen to this shit?" So, for my troubles I picked up a T-shirt that had "Fast Times at Ridgemont High" on the front and, I also bought husby a T-shirt from the movie "Goonies," and it says, "Hey You Guys !" with Sloth's face on it. So, I am done with that and go to pick up Audra and head on home and enjoy more of daylight savings time. Don't you just love it !

~Lisa Bonet (Denise Huxtable from The Cosby Show 04/22/03) She came through my line and was very nice and easy going. She did not know how to run her credit card thru the reader, but hey thats a customer for you. She was also barely recoginzable because she had these nappy, greyish dreadlocks. Now, I have seen some real nice dreadlocks before, and these I have to tell you were not attractive. Another reason she was not really recognized because she did not go under the name Lisa Bonet. Her name on her card was Liliquois Moon. (Whatever?) Those hippies I tell ya. After she left the clerk who bagged Bonet's groceries asked me, "was that Lisa Bonet ?". We discussed it for a bit, and it was only after I did some internet research that it confirmed it was her.

~Dan Renzi (Real World Miami 04/29/03)
Actually, this was kind of a Real World reunion day. During my last few hours of work Beth Stolarcyk (Real World Los Angeles) comes through my line. Then I head on over to the shopping center The Grove to check out the latest independent film, and as I walk into the theater Dan comes walking out with a "friend." Anyway, just a drive by celebing, but just thought I would note this one. I kinda of felt "That Girl" ish because the Grove has become my little hang out. The mall has an initmate setting which makes walking around pleasant. They also carry my favorite lotion I use daily. That is a plus for me because this stuff is hard to find. Plus, the new theater is pricy but, it is beautiful inside. And, I like the decent crowd that hangs out there. : )

~Avril Lavigne (singer of pop hit Complicated Concert at the Long Beach Arena 05/01/03)
First of all, don't even ask why I went. Let's just say it was one of those things married folk do for each other. Her music is not bad, I must admit her songs are pretty good, but she really is not the most seasoned performer. She is young and she has a lot to learn about stage presence. The picture above pretty much says it all. She basicly stood in front of the mic throughout the evening with her hair hanging in front of her face. Just think she is a sometime performer. Sometimes she good, and sometimes she is not. She did fine at KIIS's Dec. 2002 Jingle Ball, but on this day she was either tired or this is the real Avril. Only thing really cool about this concert was a wrist band fallling at my feet as I was standing in line and I got a better close up of Avril's opening band "Simple Plan" (Addicted). Who by the way were kick'n. Nauseating part of the evening was the Long Beach Arena. It is a dump. It is clean, but this place is old, and that includes the seats and the bathrooms. Plus, as if that was not nauseating enough, having to put up with all the girlie girls walking around in Avril garb. (writer shakes her head)

~Meredith Baxter (Family Ties 05/10/03)
I was very excited meeting Ms. Baxter because Family Ties is one of my all time favorite 80's sitcoms. She was with her daughter just buying some stuff from the deli, and I did my usual greeting. She didn't have her club card and she kind of got a little frustrated that she did not bring it. But, when I asked for her number her daughter said, "Yea, mom you can give your number". With that she calmed down and the both of them in sync repeated their phone number. It was funny the way the did it because it sounded like some mother and daughter act auditioning or something. Not too many of my customers do that. In fact, I will probably say that was a first for me. Anyway, we completed the transaction and, it being Mothers Day weekend I wished her happy Mothers Day and she sweetly thanked me.

~Ricky Martin (Singer CD signing at Tower on Sunset 05/23/03)
The evening started rocky and pretty much ended the same way. Don't get me wrong I had a nice time meeting Mr. Martin, but things happen. First, my wrist band was left at home so I had to drive back all the way from work to get it. Without it no meeting Mr. Martin. I meet up with fellow celeb hounds Kelly and Janine who have been waiting in line patiently, and we learn no picture taking allowed, "period." Bummer. We really thought that sucked. Also, Ricky was at least 20 to 30 minutes late. So, finally I get in there to meet Ricky I say, "Hi Ricky nice to meet you." Martin replies very cutely with, "Hi sweety how are you?" Immediately I am melting. I reply with, "Im fine, How are you? My name is Yvette." With that he starts signing my name, (correctly I might add.) Anyone who signs my name correctly get's an A in my book. We then all meet outside, and the three of us decide to go get a snack at Mel's Diner down the street. On our way up I see my car is not in it's parking space and immediately realize it has been towed. After we finished at Mel's Kel and Janine were troopers enough to drive me to pick up my car at the lot. Everything was fine till I go around to the passenger side of the car and see numerous light scratches along the door. So, as of now I just have a complaint on file with the tow company. Plus, I just found a parking ticket for $39 bucks. It was an expensive night for me. One I will remember always.

~Titanic Exhibit at LA exposition park (05/25/03)
Husby and I have been contempating this little trip for a while now. Very interesting artifacts such as: Clothing, dishes, money, jewelery, bottles, hair brushes, mirrors. And, probably the most interesting articfact was a twenty foot piece of the ship that they recovered in 1998. They also recreated the ship's famous stairway, and a few of the ship cabins and hallways. Also, before you enter the exhibit you receive this card that has information on a passenger that was actually on the Titanic. Near the end of the exhibit is a list of those who survived and those who did not. My passenger miraculously survived, and unfortunately husby's passenger did not. If anyone finds themselves in the area should check this one out. The exhibit will be there till Sept. 2003.

~Nick Carter (Backstreet Boy 05/30/03)

Janice, our newest assistant store manager was lucky enough to check out Nick, and I was lucky enough to be in the checkstand next to them. It's about 7:30 p.m, I am winding up my last transaction, and I happen to gaze into the next checkstand. There I saw this beautiful blonde thing grabbing his groceries getting ready to leave. He saw me look at him. I think I had this look on my face that said, "Hey, I recognize you," but, I was too star struck that I couldn't get the words out to ask him for an autograph. I thought it was a nice end to a day that started out crappy because earlier I got a lecture on the evils of tardiness from my jerk of a assistant manger.
Updated 06/01/03
This just in:
Saturday afternoon 06/07/03 Nick comes through my line. First entering the line is this heavy set dude. Looks like a bodyguard or something. He lays his items on the conveyer belt, (small coke, candy, chips) while Nick is looking through a magazine. Even though it is busy I don't rush him, I just let him look at the magazine while I take a breather (At this time I couldn't tell it was Nick). Anyway, Nick kinda tosses the magazine on the conveyer belt, (one of those teen beat type mags) it was like o,k I will take this. Comes closer, and the guy is wearing a hooded sweat shirt, with the hood on covering his head. I Look him in the eye and realize it's Nick. He kinda says hi, and we do our thing, then I end the transaction. I can tell he didn't want me making a big deal him being there so, I didn't. He was trying to have this tough guy thing going, but wasn't working.Updated 06/10/03

~Kelly Osbourne~ (T.V show the Osbournes 06/08/03)
It was a cloudy humid Sunday afternoon, and thought I would kill some time at Tower Records on Sunset. First I go to the video annex of Tower down the street to buy a DVD, then walk back up to my car which is parked on the main parking lot. A red sporty Mercedes parks right next to my car, and as I am walking to my car two bleach blondes get out. At a distance already, I am saying to myself, "Hey, that looks like Kelly Osbourne". She was with her friend from the T.V series. Kelly and I are looking at each other like we know each other, but kind of afraid to ask, "Do I know you?" kinda thing. She walks in front of my car slowly, and starts to dodle a little and check out the album covers on the store wall. I get to my car and I bleep the alarm, and it startles the both of them. They kinda giggle because my car alarm let me tell ya, it sometimes is obnoxiously loud. It scares the hell out of many people. I was going to say something to them, but they caught me off guard. I call Tower a little later and ask the cashier if Kelly was there earlier, and she said yes. I just had to confirm the sighting.

~Mamma Mia! (Las Vegas Mandalay Bay Theatre 06/23/03)
Husby and I actually did not know what show we were going to see while in Vegas. There are so many so, we called and threw the tickets on the card. Woo Hoo! And we managed to get second row center. If you don't make reservations ahead of time you usually can get seats, but you may not get good seats. This night someone I believed cancelled and the seats were available.
Now, the review of the show. Three words FUN ! FUN ! FUN !
Mamma Mia is the story of Donna Sheridan (Tina Walsh) and her daughter Sophie (Jill Paice) who run an Inn on one of the Greek Islands. Sophie is getting married soon, but does not know who her father is so, she figures out who they might be by reading her mother's diary, and invites all the three men to her wedding. This show has no real elaborate costumes or sets, but what it does have is Abba's all time favaorite hits set up in the most creative way. Stand out performance goes to one of the principle players Jennifer Perry (Rosie-a friend of Donna Sheridan). Her rendition of Abba's (Take a chance on me) is a show stopper. Another crowd pleaser is the musical's finale which just gets everyone up dancing and clapping, something I have never seen done in all the musicals I have seen. Husby and I decided to stick around to meet some of the cast members after the show. We managed to get three of the principle players from the show to sign our program. All humble, pleasant woman to talk to. One of them lived in Studio City. Right next door to our town. What a cawinkadink. Check this show out if it comes to your town.

~Las Vegas/The Venetian Hotel (06/22/03)
Husby and I start our nineth anniversary week with a little splurge time at The Venetian. Man what a place! First, we couldn't have asked for better weather. Mid to high 80's throughout our stay. No tripple digits ! Yea! Now, when you drive up for check in you are greeted with Italian songs being serenaded by a gentleman dressed in an ole Italy costume. In fact many of the hotel staff are dressed that way (how cute). We check in and make our way up to our suite and it is equipped with everything: mini bar, two T.V's (one for the living area and one for the bedroom area), marble bathroom floors, glass shower, a view overlooking the fabulous pool area, fax machine for the business men, and his and hers bath robes. (two of which we purchased to bring home for ourselves)LOL, phone in the crapper even. (pics of the room will be up soon)
We are hungry now so we head over to the Paris hotel for the best buffet in town called "Le Village Buffet" (Don't get me started on the food there). We come back to our hotel to get the layout of the place, Venetian has it's own: Built in canal with Gandolas, High end shops, swimming pool, spa, Godiva Chocolates (our home away from home), restaurants for every type of taste bud., a wax museum, etc, etc..

I then proceed to throw sixty bucks down the toilette and knew that was the end of my gambling for the rest of our stay. Now, to wind down our day we head up to our room and order Colin Farrell's movie "Phone Booth" (review is posted BTW)

Next day, in true Matt and Yvette fashion we wake up late and head for a late breakfast at Carrows. We then do a little shopping for Husby, (He needed some evening duds) We head over to St. Marks Square at our hotel and visit with the street venders, and entertainers. Once again it is back to our room to get dressed for our dinner at New York's Gallagher's Steakhouse, and then on to the show Mamma Mia at Mandalay Bay. (review is posted above)

After a wonderful evening full of fun, and a relaxing stay, it is check out time now :( but, not before we eat and take some tourist pictures, and check out the pool area. O.k now, we have lingered around Vegas long enough, time to go, and as the bell hop loads our luggage into the car he wished us back again. In fact many of the staff who knew we were leaving, wished us back again. I bet they did "cha ching" ~cash register sounds~
Only thing is we did not get to ride the Gondolas. By the time we were ready to ride they were unavailable: Something about being a tad windy for safe manouvering. Oh well, no biggie.

We make it back home about sevenish, and still wanting some fun, we head on over to Universal City Walk for some Tony Roma ribs, and the latest flick, "The Hulk" (review is also up)

So, right now my catching my breath to wind up the leg of my vacation all to which ending festivities are still pending.

~Scott Wolf ( Party of Five 07/16/03)
Came in with who I believe is his fiance Kelley Limp from "Real World New Orleans" Could not really recognize her because her hair was bleached. Anyway, Scott was as cute as ever and very personable. He bought party/picnic stuff, and plenty of hard liquor which brought his bill up to a considerable amount. He also purchased some outdoor chairs which he and I fiddled around with a bit because the tag was sewn on to the chair. Go figure? Real cool guy. Hope to meet him again.

~American Wedding premier at Universal's City Walk 07/24/03)
"I am the one in the middle. Black Sweater :)
Actually, I was almost going to miss this one because the view, and security was playing a big factor in whether this event was worth my time. But, glad we went. Husby and fellow celeb hound Kelly were among the spectators for this one. First cast member to show was (Thomas Ian Nicholas (Kevin,) and he was nice enough to come over to greet and sign autographs, along with; Eugene Levy (Jim's Dad), Eddie Kaye Thomas, (Finch) Seann William Scott (Stifler). Nikki Zerring who has a scandalous part in the film showed up with her boobs and all. Plus, Jennifer Coolidge (Stifler's Mother) who when she walked by some of the crowd members they began chanting (M.I.L.F) If you watched the first American Pie you will understand that term. Unfortunately, the stinker of the night was Jason Biggs (Jim) who felt no need to greet the fans and, just waved to everyone as he walked away. Biggs by all means does not owe the general public a thing, and that is his choice not to greet the fans. But, when you are the leading man, and you want people to see your movie, you better get off your arse and do a little PR work. But, the nice girl of the evening was Alyson Hannigan who so generously took time to sign many autographs and take a picture with me. More pictures will be posted soon. Husby's camera was acting up so he missed out on our shot, but I gave info. to a young girl who says she took the picture of Alyson and I posing, and will send it to me. Husby is still kicking himself for not capturing a moment from one of his favorite actresses. Anyway, Hannigan was one of the last cast members to arrive. So, we decided to take the party to Kelly's place where her hubby Brian put together a nice spaghetti dinner while we watched: the man, the myth, the legend, John Travolta. He finally got an episode of the show "The Actors Studio" that was recorded by Bri and Kelly's new Tivo machine. What a nice gadget. Also, to wind down the evening we all munched out on chocolate cake and ice cream. Delicious! What a fun night : )

~Joey McIntyre (musical play "Babes in Arms" UCLA campus 09/12/03)
play is based on the old Judy Garland and Mickey Rooney films in the fourties. Thought the play was well done and the cast was talented, and the music (My Funny Valentine, I wish I were in love again) will always be crowd pleasers, but numbers such as the opening song Babes in Arms and closing song Johnny One Note sung by Jodi Benson (a.k.a voice of Ariel from Disney's The Little Mermaid) totally prove that this was a production not really worth reprising, due to the date and time. After the show an intimate crowd gathers to meet the cast, and Joe Mac comes out not long after that. We make eye contact and greet each other with a smile and I say pleasantly, "Hi Joey, How are you?, great job tonight" Joey, in that Bostonian accent, says cheerfully, "Hey ! How are you, thanks hon." I then proceed to ask graciously if he could sign my poster from the first movie he did "The Fantasticks" and he says, "Sure," then asked for the spelling of my name, and spells it correctly. And, what was sweet was he took his time and signed it "Yvette, your Fantastic Love Joey", he then finishes and I say, "awwww, how sweet thanks Joey" Also, a few girls wanted his autograph and they did not have a sharpie so they asked to borrow mine and, so I stood by Joey while he made the rounds with my sharpie. He then returns the marker and says, "here ya go, thanks hon." After that I walk over to Jodi Benson to sign my program, and she was talking to some girl, so, I let them finish their conversation. She kind of let me stand there a tad long. Almost was going to give up, but she breaks and says hi, and I ask her to sign. I got the distinct feeling she is not the biggest fan of giving out autographs. It was a lovely evening. Totally a happy camper Joey signed this poster because it's a beautiful poster, and I have been lugging this thing around hoping one day he would sign it, but it has never been the right time. It now hangs in my living room, nicely framed for all to see. Thanks JoeMac

~Dick Clark (TV personality and producer 09/16/03)
Husby and I are on a Southwest flight to Vegas for his birthday. Did not see mister Clark when we boarded, but half way into the flight Husby told me that the guy next to him said Dick Clark was on the flight. I said to him, "Yea, right what would he be doing on this flight? He probably has his own airline" Husby pointed to a gentleman across the asile two rows up, and I looked, and said, "that's not him" Then I glanced again for a better look and he turned his head a bit more and I got a better look at him. Then I said to Husby, "that is him..." So, when we landed I got out our camera, and was going to take a picture of Clark removing his suitcase from the over head bins, but decided to wait till we got into the terminal. Unfortuneately, with Clark's good headstart off the plane we couldn't catch up to him, also, too many people in the way. Then he just ducked out somewhere quickly. There were a couple of other passengers on our flight wispering, and pointing, "Did you see Dick Clark he was on our flight, the guy's over there" We said, we know we are trying to catch up to him. Anyway, it just kind of tickled us silly knowing the vast loads of cash this man has, and was taking a flight to Vegas that cost us twenty nine dollars each.

~Treasure Island a.k.a TI Hotel in Las Vegas (Husby's B-day getaway 09/16/03) Three words for this hotel
DON'T STAY THERE
Three reasons:
1)
Check-in time is three p.m. We check-in close to three, and the room was not ready.
2)
Husby and I were willing to forgive and forget reason one, but, when housekeeping calls our room the next day about 12 p.m (right before we were leaving our room for a few hours) asking, "When will you be leaving the room so we can fix the bed...?" We thought that was very rude, and un-professional, and to say the least very un-customer service like behavior.
3)
The clincher~
After two days it was time for that all familiar noon time checkout, but Husby scheduled our flight out of Vegas for 9 p.m which left a huge window to mess around in town. I said no problem Ill just call front desk and we'll just do a late check-out. I call the front desk, and the lady said we are not accepting late check-out because we are all booked. I let her know our situation, but she just couldn't do it there is a convention going on, blah blah blah...

We even had to go downstairs late at night because we had to open our account to order in movies because at check in time the dork didn't leave our credit card open. Duh! like, we were not going to spend anymore during our stay. Do they not want our business. The hotel was busy with a few conventions, hell the whole town was busy, but, that doesn't mean you cannot provide good service. Plus, the hotel is losing the pirate image (something they could have let us know earlier) and, going for a more adult atmosphere. So, the marquee was being changed, and they dumped their main attraction the pirate show. Not a good direction the hotel is taking. So, we initially had to pay extra to get an earlier flight out because it was an internet special, and when you get a special you can't just move your flight time around. I also was not willing to leave our luggage at the hotel for six hours or more, and hang around Vegas all that time without a room. It may sound princess of me, but we had already done quite a bit prior to check-out and I certainly was not in the mood to just bum around the airport.
Now, up until then we had a wonderful time in Vegas: we finally got to ride the gondolas at the Venetian (Now thats a hotel who knows about customer service), had a great steak dinner at Gallaghers in New York, sat and relaxed to a cool 80's band, did some mean shopping, and got my nails done, Husby got a massage. Like I said had fun in Vegas, but just remember what I said flokes. Tell all your friends and family to forget about Treasure Island.

~LOTR: Return of the King (12/17/03)

Husby and I make our way into Westwood about 4p.m, and we meet up with Audra (coworker). As early as we thought we were, lets just say that 4p.m was not early enough. The place was crawling with wall to wall fans on each end of the street. The premiere was taking place in two theaters, so, the New Line people organized it to where one whole street between the theaters was used as the red carpet. We tried to get into the supposed prime spot, Starbucks, but they were not allowing anymore people through. It's just as well because for some reason not one celeb made their way over to Starbucks. Hum? They allowed the celebs to cross the busy street to greet fans, which I thought was just too silly. Anyway, we found a spot that allowed to us to see what was going on, but not one celeb made their way over. In fact, I was laughing because I heard one girl complaining to security that she and her friends paid to stand at Starbucks, and that she deserved her money back because no one came over. The security guy said, "Your talking to the wrong people, I have nothing to do with that." This poor girl didn't realize that these events are hit or miss, and that's why I personally don't really care to go to these things. It has to be someone I really want to see to get me out there. But, we did managed to get a good look at Orlando Bloom (Legolas). He was the hero of the evening. He signed autographs, gave hugs, and waves; plus, after he did the round of entertainment reporters, he came out again. Unfortunately, Mr. Wood (Frodo) was late. He was doing the Jay Leno show right before the premiere, and got caught up in traffic. I did see the Leno show, and another reason why he was late, he stayed for the whole taping. Im telling ya the boy needs to do what all the other celebs do. Take off when your segment is finished! You have another engagement to attend! Umm, cough, YOUR PREMIERE!) Anyway, lets give the guy a break. Maybe he thought the traffic was not going to be so bad, so he decided to stay for the whole show. So, basically when he arrived to the premiere, he ran into the theater. He kind of got a few boos. Interesting enough, Wood's Mother, and Sister were hanging out having a cigarette right near where we stood. I was going to call them over, but they looked kind of stressed, and way to preoccupied. And, I believe if I called to them, I don't think they would have appreciated the attention. So, I held back. Boo for me. Now, everyone is in the theater, so, we decided to head on over to have some dinner at The Olive Garden down the street. After we finished dinner we were waiting by the elevator that takes you to the parking garage, and we stood by Fred Willard (Best in Show, American Wedding). We struck up a conversation with the guy, and I asked him, "Your Fred Willard, right?", and he responded with, "yes." I told he we saw him at the American Wedding Premiere. He nodded, and asked, "Did you see one and two?" We told him we did, and he was going to say the movie did pretty well, "money wise," but he kind of held back and used another term. Guess he thought we wanted to talk numbers, but we didn't. I think it's kind of pretentious. We also told him that we were just over at the LOTR premiere, and he said to his wife, "Oh, so that's whats going on over there.." We also told him that it was crazy over there. It was funny because he looked at his wife like, "why weren't we invited?" So, he was nice to talk to. Anyway, that was the extent of our celeb encounter. We should have got out there much earlier, but I heard some people were there at about 4 am., and I surely was not about to get out there that time of the day.

~Scott Hamilton (Ice skating Olympic gold medal winner 01/25/04) It was Golden Globe night and husby and I were hungry for some sushi. So, we set our Tivo recorder we got for Christmas to pick up any of the Golden Globe festivities we might miss while we were out. We headed to Kojis restaurant at the top of Hollywood/Highland complex, and halfway thru dinner I spot outside the restaurant window Mr. Hamilton walking with what appeared to be a group of business people. Low and behold they placed the group in the table right across from us. Thought that was pretty cool, but didn't approach because it looked like one of those pretty important business dinners, and you just don't interrupt those type of events. I also didn't want to wait outside for the guy to finish his meal to approach him, so, husby and I said to ourselves, "cool...Scott Hamilton sat near us..," and headed out, and that was that.

~Mark Whalberg (Boogie Nights 02/22/04)
Husby convinces me to join him for Ash Wednesday mass at Good Shepherd church in Beverly Hills. It's a pretty packed mass so, we ended up standing. It wasn't too bad because those standing were first to receive the ashes and communion. After communion we went to stand back where we stood. Then not long after we made it back to our spot Mark Whalberg comes walking down the isle. He was dressed in jeans and a green sweater, and looked scruffy. Pretty much like he just woke up. He stops to greet a guy that stood right near me. They said, "What up?" to each other, and shook hands with the one handed buddy embrace right in front of me. Not long after they did this some guy handed Whalberg a white envelope. I thought it was a guy trying to get an autograph right there in church. But, I believe it was some type of mail Whalberg left at his seat, and the guy was returning it too him. After the guy gave the envelope to him, Whalberg said, "Oh, thanks man, God bless you..." So, mass is finished and we head outside. We then see Whalberg walking down the street going in the opposite direction alone. I believe I heard he has a place not too far from the church. Unfortunately, once again it wasn't those opportune times, so, we didn't approach. We just found it funny Marky Mark actually in church.

~76th Annual Academy Awards (02/29/04)
Billy Crystal returns from a break, and shows he still is one of the Academy's beloved master of ceremonies. Glad to see he brought back the musical intro that he made so famous. It's such a huge undertaking for a host, but he does it so professionally.
Really happy for Charlize Theron winning best actress. Just days before the Oscars I saw her performance in Monster, and truly thought this award was well deserved. Adrien Brody's award presentation to Theron was a classic moment. What a take off of last years Halle Berry smooch. The breath spray will be remembered for many years.
And, nice to see they awarded Sean Penn for his many years of good work.
Another moment was Jack Black and Will Ferrell singing made up lyrics to the cut away speech song. The two of them were priceless. Loved all the musical numbers, and "Into the West" by Annie Lennox was also a well deserved win. Such a nice melodic, and well written song.

Let's hear it for "LOTR: Return of the King" for a clean sweep of all eleven nominations. So proud of this piece of work. It's nice to see a film generate such excitement; not seen since the 1997 epic Titanic.

Also, no real surprising winners this year, and glad they also stayed away from the heavy stage production numbers. Not that I dislike dancing and singing, but the're usually a waste of valuable award time.

Plus, seeing Travolta and Wood in the same room is just too much to handle.

On a personal note, in Sept. 2002 my sister and I were at the Kodak Theater for American Idol. And, I clearly remember where we sat. It just totally thrills me that during this years Oscar broadcast: The LOTR Gang were sitting in our exact seats. Right hand side; seats closest to the double doors. I believe Peter Jackson was in my seat. Watch out folks ! Two great arses in the same seat !

Overall, the broadcast was well done and filled with some genuine memorable moments.
