A Staker Farewell

Karen and Don Staker, between them 67 years as Gilbert H.S. teachers, retired with the close of the 1998-99 school year. To commemorate their passing, the Gilbert choral reading group performed 'A Staker Farewell,' written by teacher Marcy Good. Read the text of the performance.

38th Parallel Q&A

An e-mail interview with Jeff Barton, bass player of 38th Parallel, discussing the band's past, present, and future.

The Presidents' Lives

The History Club is a group of high school students at Gilbert who want to promote interest in history. They do many projects thoughout the year. At the present time, because of the ordeal with President Clinton, they have asked the question, "How many past Presidents would have met our standards for this office today?" Every week, they will be presenting essays on different Presidents' lives.

The information comes from the research done by author Paul F. Boller, Jr., and presented in his two books, Presidential Campaigns and Presidential Anecdotes.
