For You alone, through Christ atoned, only through Your grace, by faith alone. Thanks be to God- AMEN! Pismo Beach 4-11-02 I sit upon the ocean shore as I will pray for today. Now and for ever I will sing to the One who died for me. I ponder this love he freely gave me as I gaze into the blue and victorious view. Now we sit upon the rock that is warm from the sun while the gently breeze blows upon the warm sandy land. The sand swiftly forms a pattern by the flow of air from the waters abroad. Mighty is this land we live on, Mighty is our God. I open the Word and spend some time studying to understand what Christ longs for me. Truth is all in front of me and I desire to know more, to grow and understand wisdom from above. I am my Fathers child and he is my heavenly Father. Great are the oceans vast across this earth, greater is our God almighty. Many grains of sand, many souls are lost. Who will go, who will tell? I sometimes fear the reply of men and women I may share Jesus love with on the pier. Oh what does it cost me, lay up your treasures in heaven where they will be ever more. Leaving California 4-11-02 (Julie Bong) Blossoms are blooming all around. The cool breeze gently blows upon me as we walk one last time on the ocean shore. I open the door and climb in for the ride that will take us closer home before the next tide. The sun is setting portraying the most majestic painted picture in the sky. Our creator holds all beauty while he swiftly lays out the colors of awe in the evening sky. Strolling along the highway and taking in the landscape of this spec of land form by God almighty for man. Safety he gives us as we cruise on... early morning till late at night still riding along in the starry night. We saw the sunset, now we see it rise. What a trip, what a ride. Time has gone and time is before us, we stop to slightly rest before going on some more. But persuaded into remaining a while longer, we partake of a delicious homemade dinner. Resting for the night in comfort, then rise in the morning for breakfast with a dear friend. Now on the freeway for just a short while we soon come to my ol home town of which we plan to stay a short while. We stay the day seeing family and enjoying their company once again. Sitting in the spa of soothing water brings relaxation to us. The day has gone and now its a new, we stop to visit with a few. Laughter and smiles the time goes by and soon we two are driving 70 miles. Destination we have now arrived and we thank God who was by our side. In a few days we head back over the mountains to where I live and will most ever enjoy the summer ahead! |

| A Definition of Truth Julie Bong 3-7-02 “Truth is reality or fact from conformity; exact accordance with that which is, or has been, or shall be. Its value constitutes of history. Real fact or just a principle, real state of things. There are innumerable, truths with which we are no acquainted”. Genuine, undeniable and faithfulness are attributes of truth. We base our faith and truth on the word of God. Fact is God is the creator and cause of man (Gen. 1:1). Jesus is truth- John 14:6 “I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me”. In John 8:58 Jesus declares his eternity, “I AM” he existed before Abraham. John 1:17 “For the Law was given by Moses, but grace and truth came by Jesus Christ (who is God-Col. 2:9,10) Moses received the Law from God. Therefore, God created the Law as well as the truth and grace. John 8:34-Whoever is enslaved to sin, is not free-only Christ can set sinners free. Christ makes the Law, and his death, burial and resurrection frees us from the Law, our sins paid for by His blood. God is the beginning of all, John 1:1 “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.” Vs. 3 “All things were made by him; and without him was not anything made that was made.” Everything needs a cause and in the beginning of all causes or created things must be one that always has been in existence –infinite. Only God the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit fall in the place of infinite. John 8:32 proves Christ is not of this world but from above. Every being of this world was created; we cannot bring ourselves into existence unless we already exist, which man cannot do. Jesus was himself before he was born into this world as flesh (sinless Son of God). Jesus is of the Godhead. Therefore, created himself through the intervention of the Father through the work of the Holy Spirit in Mary by the will of God. God can do anything; miracles, etc. because He created the natural laws of earth and man. God doesn’t change, but intervenes with miracles (rare, one time interventions by God- not an interruption to natural law). Jesus says in vs. 26 “I have many things to say and to judge of you; but he that sent me is true; and I speak to the world of those things which I have heard of him”. The people he spoke to didn’t understand. But what they heard was truth. We may not understand all things (truths), but that doesn’t make it unaffirmable or false. We are to dig deeper and search for understanding of the truth so we may defend what we believe and help others understand as well. There is plenty of biblical, historical, and archeological finds that back up the truths of Gods word. Though Gods word doesn’t need mans defense, it clearly defends itself. Just looking at creation, where did it come from? The universe didn’t just evolve; something or someone of intelligence had to create it. Therefore, it is true that God created all things from the beginning of time-God created time. As Christians we are to defend and stand up for our faith, though man argue against us because they don’t understand the bible (truth). As Christians we have the Holy Spirit which helps us understand the bible and creates the conviction that it is true and is the Word of God. We rely on the inner witness of the Spirit and the bible alone as our authority. The Spirit of God, however, frequently works through means rather than directly. He creates certainty of divine nature of Scripture by providing evidences which reason can evaluate. “Reason doesn’t tell us the content of our belief or discover truth; it’s that of what we learn as a matter of revelation not a logical deduction through natural theology.” In John 8:32, Jesus tells us “ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free”, we are set free by the Son (vs. 36). Christ goes on saying in vs. 40 that they have truth from Abraham given by God, yet they don’t obey or believe Jesus who is of God himself. Truth is not founded on mans words, but on Gods word, though man passes truth on, and history records evidence of truth. Without the Holy Spirit we have a hard time understanding Christ words cause we are born in the flesh and the Father of our flesh-man-nature is Satan who has not truth in him. Salvation is given to sinners and done only through the work of the Holy Spirit who reveals truth to us. Unsaved people are blind to truth (2 Cor. 11:3, John 8:44), because Satan corrupts the mind. God demonstrated his love toward us (Rom. 5:8) and reveals truth to us. This supreme demonstration of Gods love in the greater realm is a guarantee that such love may be trusted to “graciously give us all things” for our good in this earthly sphere- to defend us, keep us safely, and bring us to Himself in Glory. When we hold the Word of God as our absolute authority and yield to the Holy Spirit who indwells us, truth is revealed to us through Gods word. God’s word gives us grounds to base our lives on; what is right and what is wrong. The bible is the inspired word of God, and we know God cannot fellowship with sin. Therefore God is perfect, and being perfect he is the author of truth. We have undeniable biblical trues about God that defend our faith. We need to study them out, search the facts by digging deeper so when we are tested, we can say with confidence what we believe and know to be true. What man is, does and says will pass away, but Gods word (truth) will stand forever (1 Peter 1:24,25). Truth is ABSOLUTE! |

| HE KNOWS MY NAME dedicated to Haley Stadden Now and today He will take all your darkness away, fill your insides with light and uphold you with His might! Anytime you need Him, any time you fall, He will be right there to hear you as you call, catch your stumble and lift you from your crawl. Open wide His arms will take close and happy He will make. Joy will shine upon your face, most importantly it came through God's grace! Time and Time we miss the mark try our wants and will, till we loose spark. Dim and down I gloom in shame. | Julie Bong Testimony I grew up in a Christian home, praise the Lord! My dad as a Baptist pastor and my mom teaching us in the way we should go. When I was five years old, I realized with the explanation of my father, that I was a sinner in need of a Savior. Romans 3:10. Having Christian parents couldn’t save me, nor going go church would save me. After church one day when I had gotten in trouble, my dad took me aside at home. He sat down with his bible and I, and told me why he was punishing me and then backed it up with scripture. He asked if I wanted to please God, and if I ever believed in Him as my Savior. At that moment I wanted a personal relationship with Christ, and then believed that He died for my sin on the cross, was buried and resurrected as my living Savior. 1 Cor.15:3,4. My parents and Christian teachers helped me grow in the Lord. At age 6 I was baptized, showing in public my profession of faith in God –my Savior and Lord. Baptism was not a work added to my salvation, but was an act of obedience to God’s word. As I grew older I struggled with having doubts. At camp one year I rededicated my life and again in High school when I saw myself falling away from the Lord. My mom and brother Jeff were saved while I was in High School, and that played a huge part in my walk w/ the Lord. God has wondrously worked in my life through camp ministries, as camper and counselor. I’m so thankful for the trials God has put me through. I now can look back as see how He was at work in my life to help my personal relationship with Him grow stronger and building my faith in Him more. As a result of trials I’ve learned to trust in Him more through the good and the tough areas in my life. The most difficult part of my life was my senior year in High school and the following year. Thankfully, He brought me away from my sin and forgave me when I realized I wasn’t living for Him in all that I did. He then blessed me with an awesome college group of Christian friends from a church in Western WA. I began to seek out Christ daily and desired to please and serve Him. He’s opened doors for me such as camp to help me in my walk with Him. That there is Christ at work in me, molding me and teaching me so much through the Holy Spirit creating in me the desire and hunger for the Word of the Lord more and more. Bible College was a great asset to my growth and knowledge of God and his plan. I hope I am a blessing and a person who others can see Christ in and through me in my daily life as I continue to do His will. Faith-Hope-Love! What a blessing to have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ! |
