In The Wind
This is going to be a collection of things I wrote. Most of them are single stanzas of poems, single lines even, but all are things that I thought and wrote. Please don't use without permission.
The title of this page is a reference to the first poem here.
I'd rather be dust in the wind
Than floating here alone without you
I'd rather be burned and die
A thousand times beneath the stars
Than be here without you
Hear you me,
Hear you me.
We walked down
in the cold light
before the dawn
we sat there
at the end of your street
and told stories
about before
I forgot to remember what I wanted to say
Failing the angels by falling away
I'd love to see your eyes by a light of your own
It wouldn't matter that I'm trapped here alone
In the end, we're just sand in an hourglass, and you're falling just as fast as me.
Seventh time through hell and you think that I'd be learning
Seven times through hell and the fire's hardly burning
Wrapped in silk and shadows
the darkness kisses her head
her hair glimmers sweet
light radiates from all she is
There's always a hand at your throat and a gun in your pocket
And there might be flowers in your hair but you're not looking that far
Magnetism and fantasy
Wonder if you're waiting for me
Crimson blood and eternity
Watch yourself moving randomly
No matter how the rain falls
she slides through the street cracks
finds a way to be with me
By losing you I lose part of me
And I'm losing you while
you're standing right there
Just make sure you can break through
the walls you build around you
cos I begin to believe that I can't.
Mine own innocence has blinded me
and left me open to injury...
and your own complicity shall drive you mad
And when you change your mind
When you wake up
When you get real
We'll climb that ladder
All the way to the moon
Don't ask me hard questions;
the answers only hurt us both
So I'll bottle up my pain
And hide from you my love
And savour both in the silence of my heart
I'll count all my blessings
On every strand of your hair
And never touch you
Because I could never hurt
What you are
I don't want to hear
Any more excuses
I don't want to know
Any more users
Yet still keep coming
back for more
Bells on your ankles and
Bells on your arms
Softwood sandals on your feet and
Gilt in your hair
She has empty eyes and hollow smiles
Her hands are as thin and delicate
as birds wings
Her bones are fine and show
Her skin is pale, she hasn't slept
she would break easily...
When I see you in my mind
It makes the walls feel close
It makes the people fade away
It makes me feel alone
Butterflies spring from the tips of my fingers
Escaping to light and a better day
Fleeing the inside coldness
Flying to the other side
Spinning through golden sunlight rays
but you're moving down
and losing ground
and i'm losing all faith in you
but it's not going to stop
til you wise up
so just give up
Call it chance, but whenever you're here
I begin to wonder where my thoughts have been
And it's unfortunate I know, unrequired
Just as I know my love is unrequited
I can kick and scream
and call your name
I will call it to the summer sky
i will tell you the words
that burn inside me
that take my heart apart
Because we all know, if your morals are loose
An angel's halo is just a raised noose.
'Cause I poured my heart out, and it evaporated
Like storm clouds on some newly clearing day
I should have known to more than worry about the outcome
Because no one ever liked a shade of grey.
