Simona Amanar Starts Planning her Wedding

Simona Amanar will marry long-time boyfriend Cosmin Tabara, the son of former Romanian Union Party President, Valeriu Tabara, on March 9th in Timisoara. The two met two years ago, at Lavinia Milosovici’s wedding. “We saw each other for the first time at Lavinia’s mother-in-law house, where they set us up for the best man/best woman pairings. I got Cosmin,” recalls Simona, who believes theirs was no love at first sight. For the next months, the two of them only talked on the phone. “We weren’t allowed to keep our [cell] phones with us at Deva. Whenever, I would call him, I’d just beep him. If he didn’t call back in 30 seconds, I would turn off the phone, because I would be embarrassed,” said the former gymnast.

Cosmin starting visiting her at Deva shortly after that. “Simona is incredibly nice, she’s modest and intelligent. She definitely contradicts the stereotype that great athletes aren’t the smartest people,” said Cosmin Tabara. Simona celebrated her birthday on October 7th in Bucharest, and the two have been together ever since. They plan on spending their honeymoon somewhere in Italy, and have already sent over 300 wedding invitations. The list of guests includes [ROC President], [YSD Secretary General] Nicolae Marasescu, Octavian Belu and Simona’s former teammates Lavinia Milosovici, Maria Olaru, Gina Gogean and Claudia Presacan. The five “golden girls” are all living in T8imisoara now and plan to open their own gym some time soon.

Simona also told Evenimentul Zilei that her future husband chose a very interesting moment to propose to her. “We were watching TV one night, and the movie was about a wedding. At one point, Cosmin looked at me and asked me if I wanted to be his wife. I had been waiting for that question for a while, so I said yes,” added a happy Simona. Cosmin Tabara is 25 years old and works as a lawyer. The wedding will be held at the Hotel Continental restaurant in Timisoara.
