Andreea Cacovean Update

Former World Champion, Andreea Cacovean is back coaching at the gymnastics club located on Arges Street. Andreea Cacovean was a member of the 1995 World Champion Romanian gymnastics team, alongside Gina Gogean, Lavinia Milosovici, Simona Amanar, Nadia Hatagan, Alexandra Marinescu and Claudia Presacan. Andreea is in her last year of school at the Cluj Sports University, majoring in gymnastics. Cacovean came back to the gym after being asked by Simona Pauca Rus, two-time Olympic champion in 1984. Rus wants to establish a strong gymnastics club in Cluj, and enlisted Cacovean’s help. Andreea Cacovean coached in Cluj during March-May 2001, when she teamed up with Simona Pauca Rus at the recently formed Clubul Sportiv Municipal Cluj gymnastics club. The golden coaching team is probably the only duo of world-Olympic champions still coaching in Romania. The 20 gymnasts from CSM Cluj’s program should consider themselves very lucky to receive such high-quality instruction.
