In Conclusion

Every single human behavior has its roots in either perception, learning, memory, or some combination of the three. Though we usually don't take notice until something goes wrong in one of those processes, they influence everything we do.

The entire world is subject to our perception. Our senses do not detect undistorted truth. We choose to ignore the vast majority of our world and focus on a minority of key elements that are important at the time. Nearly everything we do is a learned behavior, influenced by our culture and our perception. Memory further distorts our experiences, leaving us with a rough sketch of what we percieve to have happened. Since all of our behavior is based on that, it's no wonder we have so many behavioral errors.

Though inescapable, mistakes in our behavior can be minimized if we understand the reasons they occur and become more conscious of our perception, conditioning, and memory. By controlling the things that control our behavior, we can vastly improve our satisfaction with our lives.
