A message from BGen Fred Arocha, Editor Franfort, Ky The elections have passed and we now await the results here in Kentucky and throughout the 2 nations that were once one; In conversation with many of the voters leaving Kentucky polls, a common thread was repeated by our citizens, one of resolve to face what fate determines of our new nation, to not waver under the burdens whatever they may be, and to send a message to the people above the great river which borders our North.....We of the Confederate States look now to make our lives now and have no grudges to the past; take this message as a sign of future goodwill between us,and take it as a sober warning to not attempt to interfere with our self determined path. As I departed the US Army Depot, in Harrisburg, PA, (PA Resrve HQ) for home, there were many tears and emotion was high as comrades of all ranks siad there farewells and made silent prayer that the arms embraced in handshake would not be embarced in combat in the waters ahead. Veterans of many campaigns, some recalling memories dating to the Napoleonic wars looked to what may come to a Civil war on this continent with regret, and with a devotion to duty...to state...to country.....We salute all who honor their duty, and ask that God protect our comrades and friends and family in the days ahead. |
