Fair isle air strip

The Britain's most isolated inhabited island (current population is about 70). Just a little and remote piece of rocks in the middle of the sea between Shetland and Orkney. It has one of the smallest island communities still remaining active and vital.

It's also famous for:

	the fierce winter gales (as you can see in the photo, the ferry, the "Good Shepherd IV" has a "noost", just a true hole dipped in the earth where it's placed during bad weather).
	the bird observatory, a magic place to stay, you can share your time with biologists, birdwatchers and ornithologists that came from all over the world to study the spectacular spring migration.
	the spectacular scenery of cliffs.
	the wool and the sheep, the crafts in the Fair Isle stile.

If you wish to really taste insularity I strongly suggest you to visit Fair Isle. Don't forget warm and watertight clothes, camera and binoculars to watch the birds.
