ORGANIZATION OF INFORMATION

& LIBRARY SERVICES

The books and serials collection of the Library is organized according to the colon classification system whereas the periodical back volumes are arranged alphabetically title wise. The United Nations and allied collection, European Economic Commission and Canada publications are organized according to the classification systems provided by them.

The library provides the following services to its users:
 
 
1. Lending service 2. Inter- Library loan service 
3. Photocopying service 4. Reference and referral service
5. Documentation service.

5.1. FORTNIGHTLY LIST OF ARTICLES ON INDIA :

The Articles list indexes all articles on India, which have appeared in all national and international journals and newspapers received by the Library under broad subject headings viz. Economics, Education, Politics, Sociology, Science and Technology, Media, Social Sciences, History, Public Administration, Language and Literature etc. Every year, more than 100 journals are indexed for this list alongwith four financial newspapers. Our Library possesses annual cumulations of this list right from 1967 onwards to till date.

5.2. FORTNIGHTLY LIST OF ADDITIONS :

The libraries additions list gives information regarding the latest acquisitions of the Library under the following heads:
 
 
1.Books
2. Government Publications
2.2. Publications of other Corporate Bodies
3. Depository Publications : ( United Nations, Canada, European Countries, and its specialized agencies)
4. Periodicals and Serials : New Titles 

 

This list too is cumulated annually and the library has the annual cumulations from 1965 to till date.

5.3 The library is also bringing out a monthly Current Awareness Bulletin, since 1996 which lists the following:

  1. Grey literature of about 70 to 100 national and international research institutions and organizations, received by the library.
  2. Documentation lists of other libraries.
  3. Book-reviews in economics appearing in both journals and newspapers that library receives.
  4. Publications of our Institute's faculty members.
