Unicorns have always been a symbol of strength and purity. So the legend goes, they can only be approached by a virginal female. Their horn was reputed to have magical powers and one legend that I like says that the unicorn dipped its horn into the forest streams and any animal that drank from that stream immediately thereafter was healed of all its ills.
Children have always loved unicorns..they just make you feel peaceful looking at them.
