Politics is a passion in Saskatchewan. We are obsessed with it! And with good reason. We've had some very interesting things happen in the political world in Saskatchewan. Saskatchewan residents elected the first social democratic government in North America in 1944, we've been home to a western separatist party, and we are the home of the biggest political scandal in Canada with large numbers of members of the Conservative government of the 1980s being convicted of fraud and serving time in jail.
