As you can probably already tell, what I want for christmas is a laptop. The exact kind is a compaq presario 1800 series (for more info click pic above). You won't belive the amount of research I have been doing on laptops! The reason for all of this searching is to find the exact kind I want that is in a reasonable price range. I have found that the compaq laptop that I want is going to cost about $2,000! Yeah this is alot of money! That is why for the past 6 months I have been saving up about every dime i get. Also, I have had money saved in the stock market that I am going to spend on this. Okay so now if you still think I am crazy for spending all of this money I am going to tell you why I want this laptop. Here are the main reasons:
1. I don't have a computer of my own. I have always wanted a computer of my own becasue the computer that I am using to type this right now is my family's computer. Althogh it's a really nice computer, when your in a family of five it's hard to get on the computer alot. Plus This computer we got in 1998 and a new one for me would be nice.
2. Portable DVD, yeah babby! This is a HUGE reason why I want a laptop. I want to be able to take the laptop on the airplane, in the car, or even in my own bedroom and sit back and enjoy a DVD. Right now our family doesn't have a DVD player. There is a port on the laptop called, Tv out and what this is is you can swich your monitor to your TV. So say I want to watch Waterboy on DVD, okay well with this i can watch the movie on the TV screen instead of the laptop screen.
3. MUSIC! Okay so i download a program like Napster and get songs. Well you don't have to be online to play the songs so i can just take the laptop with me in the car (or anywhere else) and play the music. That's way i don't have to spend like $20 for a cd.
4. Take where ever you want! This is what convinced me to go with a laptop vs a desktop. Of corse I am going to put to the laptop in my room, but it doesn't have to stay there. Say I have to type and essay for school or somethin, well insead of saying in one room I can go to the kitchen table (where I do all of my homework not on the computer) and type the essay. Also, I love playing computer games. If get a laptop say I am in a long car or airplane trip I can play computer games, this way the long trip will seem like 5 minutes.
5. Internet 24/7 This is really nice. Say I go on a vacation or I am in my bedroom i can go on the ineternet! I hate only being able to go on the inernet from the computer in this room down here. Say on a nice spring day I can go sit out on the porch and surf the web.
WOW that was 5 already! Well I have lots more reasons why I want a laptop, but if I said them all I would probably bore you to death!. Well I think that you have a pretty good idea why I want a laptop. Like I said this is my enite wish list for this year. Like I said laptops are expensive!
