Concert Review Westlife began their debut world tour this week in Newcastle and I went to see them on Tuesday 13th Feb. Supporting them were Fixate, Reel (winners of the Smash Hits best tour Act 2000) and two girls I cant remember the name of (sorry). The concert began as a childs voice asks "Mammy, where do dreams come from?". The lights went out and a video came on showing Westlife being resusitated or something( I didn't really understand what that was about). The stage turns round and Westlife kinda abseil down onto the stage to sing Dreams Come True. The lads preformed all their hit singles, except Against All Odds and tracks from the two albums. Westlife really proved that they can dance, in fact the majority of the concert featured uptempo tracks. The highlights for me would be Uptown Girl when they preform in red overalls and a car is drove on stage, Seasons in the Sun when the lads walk on these conveyor belt things and Kian singin Wild Thing cos the rest of the lads had gone home (They hadn't). The very best bit was the encore. For Flying Without Wings, The boys travel across the audience on a box thing and I could finally see them!! (I wasnt sitting very close). The box travels back and a video comes back on showing the lads going back to dying or whatever, like they were in the beginning and the words "Dream over" appear (which was depressing), Overall, a very good concert i'm sure you'll agree!! If you would like to share your views of the concert or if you met them (lucky!), e mail me and i'll post them up here. Back to main page |
