The Pilot Field is situated out of the town centre and has main road access; it’s actually situated on Elphinstone Road hill, its adjacent to our neighbours St Leonards and near Helenswood Upper school.  The hill is quite a stroll to get up and for anyone who lives on the Ridge it can be a nightmare even in a vehicle.  The entrance has been re-newed in 2001 by our director Mick Maplesden as the old turnstiles were caving in.  The new gates include enough room for team and supporters coaches to park inside the ground.

When you enter the first thing that will hit you is the back of the clubhouse, if you go round the side you’ll see the programme sellers, and the golden goal tickets available on your right you will see the also re-newed club shop (open before and after the match also at half time) with a lot of accessories in.  Also on your right you will see the also re-newed tea bar that serves quality food throughout the game.  On your left you will see the clubhouse and an entrance at the side or the front next to the Elphinstone Road Stand.

Kit’s
Ah the old Claret and Blue is back at last and what a joy it looks so great this year the sponsor makes it look better than ever before, surely my favourite and the away kit isn’t far off the Blue and Yellow mixes well and looks great in an evening fixture.

Matchday Programme
Price: £1
Hastings United’s matchday programme has been renowned as one of the best in our league, at a fantastic price of only £1 it’s one of the cheapest in our league compared to Folkestone Invicta’s rip-off £1.80 and Sittingbourne’s £1.40 (there are reasons for this one).  It may not be glossy and flash but its up-to-date and always was something interesting to read throughout the game.  The best read is Simon Says always something worth reading and isn’t like any other articles in other programmes.  One day the programme will have to go up I think next season it will due to the restructuring of the leagues.
