A Captains responsibility is to: • Make sure your team read rules and understand those rules • Make sure your team follow the rules • Assure that your team doesn't manipulate the ladder • Assure that no other teams are intentionally avoided The Team Captain is responsible for each player's actions that is on their team. One player's actions can get the whole team penalized. As a Team Captain you are to encourage your team: • To always show good sportsmanship win or lose • Treat others with respect • Keep the games FAIR, FRIENDLY and HONEST • Participate in the Message Forum • Participate in Ladder voting's You must remember GKL doesn't allow Cheating, Accusation's, Rudeness, Fighting etc. and this is very clear in rules, so keeping this in mind any of the above can get your team a warning, rung or boxed. | You as the Captain are always expected to handle disputes maturely that involve your team. You are expected to set a good example to your team by following the rules, exercising good sportsmanship and showing the utmost respect for other Captains and players and the Ladder! As you know, no rules are fool proof and as a Captain you are not to search and try to find Loopholes that would unfairly give your team leverage over another team. Captain to Captain: Just because you are Captain of your own Spades Team, doesn't mean the opposing Captain's are your enemy. Captains should be getting along and demonstrating to your teams the Sportsmanship of the game, when players see Captains getting along with each other it can be contagious and players will try harder to get along with each other as well, and the more players we have getting along good with each other the better those games will be. So come on and be contagious to your team in a positive way and never a negative way! |
