| ~GKL Rules~ Guardian Knights is here for the sole purpose of fun & fair games. Each team that plays here is expected to follow the rules and keep GKL Team Games Fun & Fair for everyone. To eliminate rule changes as much as possible and rule on top of rule, the Admins will make the best decision's that they possibly can with the best interest of the Ladder in mind. And just because something isn't listed, doesn't mean it is allowed. And the "Loop Hole Game" is not available. ++ All rules have exceptions "With a good Attitude you never lose, With a bad Attitude you never Win" Ladder Rules and Zone CoC's must be followed in Ladder Room 3. Ban/Kicked: Proven Cheaters will be Kicked & Banned and will NOT be allowed back on GKL. Trouble makers will also be removed. Sportsmanship: Always show good sportsmanship and show respect for other GKL users. Win or Lose good Sportsmanship is always expected from you. If you choose to demonstrate poor sportsmanship conduct, including accusing others of cheating or insinuating without proof during games, lobby, zones, game comments and message forum, you and your team will face penalties. (+See penalty's at bottom) Fighting We will Not tolerate fighting anywhere within the ladder by GKL users. Players who break this rule will be Player Boxed. If you see users fighting, stay out of it or join them in the Player Box. Your choice! (+See penalty's at the bottom) Double Nil: NO Double Nil's can be made by THE PLAYER who has a kibitzer. +Going Double Nil with a Kibitzer, is an automatic Forfeit. +Option for those who like to Double Nil: Players may block table on the LAST CARD going into the next bidding hand. Table MUST be reopened once bids are placed. + You can not use this Option if an Admins or Captain is at the table due to problems. + You can not boot, block or silence a Zone Sysop at anytime. BE RIGHT BACK (BRB) All bids must be placed before you can BRB, When possible you should wait until the end of hand and ask for "Hold Last Card" (HLC) until you return. Please limit your BRB's in games and make them as brief as possible. HIDE CARDS: +Option If you choose not to hide cards and a mistake is made by a teammate coming to watch their Team play and if they click on the opponents team by mistake, NO accusations are to be made of them cheating by anyone at the game table, because it is your responsibility to Hide Cards incase mistake's happen. KIBITZERS: You are a Guest at the table, keep in mind the game belongs to the 4 players at the table and NOT you. If Players do not mind you chatting, then you are welcome to join in. If you are requested to keep chat to a minimum by a player, then you should respect their request. Never expose a players hand or tell them how to bid. If a Kibitzer is at the table causing trouble, you may Silence them under Options. Players Can Not boot a kibitzer unless the whole table agree's. +Only when the DN Option is being used does this not apply. GKL players who watch Team Games should not be "Lap Hopping" from one player to the other. If you are requested to stop after doing so once and if you continue, you will receive a player warning. GKL Ladder Matches There are no settings for ladder matches. Regular with Double Nil is the default settings, any variation of spades can be played as long as all 4 players agree. If one player does not agree, the table must play by the default settings. You cannot refuse a game just because someone doesn't want to play your variation. Guardian Knights Ladder "GKL" play all Team Games in Ladder Room 3, your partner must be in room and ready to play. Once seated games can be announced in the chat area "lobby" or you may join a table that is asking for a GKL team game. Example: GKL @@ # You are ONLY allowed to Zone for Down Games. There is no limit to how many time's you can play the same team. However, you should play as many different teams as possible, back to back games should ONLY happen when no other teams are available. The utmost respectable team thing to do is to exit the game table after a game, and go to another team who is asking for a game or sit and openly advertise in the lobby. You must restart game if player(s) are booted before first card is played. Its always nice to offer a reseat if booting takes place early in first hand. Reseat will NOT take place as stated above, if a Double Nil bid has been placed by anyone at table. You are responsible for completing your games. If you leave a game and are found to still be online or in another game, you/your team can be penalized. ALL 4 PLAYERS are responsible for making sure players are in fact team players, any games started without a Team Player from either team, is a NO GAME. +Team Game is ONLY a Team Game when 2 players from one team and 2 players from another team - start game. Reporting: The losing team must remain seated. ONLY one losing partner is to report the game, always be clear on which one is doing the report. Please make sure you report your games with the correct information. Site Down: Keep your matches wrote down, "names of players and teams". Once site is back up, report games in order starting with first game first. Booted Partner: Hold Last Card "HLC" for at least 5 minutes giving the player time to return. If player doesn't return you can: 1. Continue game with Bot. 2. Ask a player from your team to sub. 3. Ask any player who is signed up on GKL to sub. Subs must give seat back upon the return of booted player. +The original 4 players are credited with the win or loss. Table Talk: Telling your partner to: "Bag them" "Don't nil partner" "Watch the Bags" "TRAM" or anything near the above, is table talk. NNP- Nice Nil Partner at end of hand or when no more then 2 cards is left to be played, is the only time this should be said. CMP- cover me pd "after both partners bid" is ok. If TT occurs during game, the team who Table Talked must Forfeit the game. If in doubt of table talking, complete your game and then both side's should send the table chat to their team Captain. Any necessary corrections will be made if submitted and TT was found. Fun Things to say that isn't TT" "Limbo Pd" "Duck Pd" "Swim Pd" Cheating: We will NOT stand for cheating. This includes, but is not limited to, breaking rules, rotating rosters, card counters, reporting false results, or otherwise tampering with Ladder rankings, zone messages, typing your cards on the table. If you have Proof that your opponent has cheated, you should leave the match immediately and report the activity and the PROOF to your Admins. Proven Cheaters will be BANNED from ladder. +Players can submit Proven Cheating Captains Corner: Team Size: 2-25 You are responsible for the actions of your team members. The actions of ONE player can affect the entire team. It is your obligation to be sure each player has read the rules and understand those rules, update your team on any changes to the team roster, and to always be mature and civil when handling disputes that involve your team. We encourage you to try to solve problems on your own before bringing them to the staff, but not to the point of creating hardship to yourself or harassing other users. We encourage you to hold regular team meetings with your team, to go over rules and resolve team issues. Captains in team games: If a Captain is in a team game and their team is having problems at a table, the Captain is allowed to get a Sub. ~ Exclusively for Team Captains ~ Site for Captains only, so they may express their concerns openly and bluntly, offer tips to other Captains and a lot more. Captains are encouraged to be mature when active in this site. This site is private, you will only obtain membership when you make your request using your Ladder Name as Captain. Please allow 4 days to be approved. This site will not be moderated by Admins Apply for Membership here Filing a complaint: Team Captains must attempt to resolve situation's between themselves before complaints are filed. A complaint only becomes official when it is mailed by a Team Captain. Players however can submit "PROVEN" cheating. Complete chats are always the best when possible, and you must supply details, if you leave out details, then don't expect us to know them. Ladder Account: E- mail: Your E- mail address must be kept current on the site or the account will be removed. Ladder Names: Admins can ask you to change your ladder name if it is found to be too similar to an existing user's nickname. Your Ladder name must match your ZONE name, this includes spaces, underscores and other keyboard characters. If it doesn't, the match is invalid "NO GAME" and your opponent is not required to report any losses to you. The ONLY exception is CAPS or non- caps, you should email the Admins to have CAPS and non-caps adjusted to your ladder name. Multiple Users: It is illegal for more than one person to use or share the same account. You are more than welcome to each participate in the Ladder, but you will have to create separate accounts for each individual playing. Same household players can NOT partner each other, and they should limit how often they play against each other. You can not kibitz the partner of the person who you live with. ++TOP RANKERS: Players in the Top Ranks are expected to be as active after they reach the top ranks as they were before they got there. You are expected to be playing those RANKED directly under you along with everyone else. The Number #1 team must play a #2 team at least once every 24 hours or be rung half way down. This doesn't mean you can't play #2 more then that in a days time. And it doesn't mean you should avoid playing a team just because you have played that Rank already. This rule is only to insure rank #1 is playing fair & not going days without playing rank #2. Play fair Top Rankers - give everyone a chance. "Its the Ladder Law" Use common senses: We can't cover every aspect of gaming in our rules. We have tried to be as thorough as possible and cover all the basics. However, just because something is not listed doesn't mean that it is allowed. If it is something that will adversely effect other teams and you might think twice about doing it, it's probably against the rules. Our staff has the final say. Sportsmanship: Conduct (fairness, respect for one's opponent, and graciousness in winning or losing) Accuse & Insinuate: To openly accuse cheating by using the word CHEAT or to imply or insinuate cheating without using the word CHEAT. Remarks to cause doubt, distrust, or to imply in a slyly and subtle manner without out right saying it. TEAM: Performed by a team marked by devotion to teamwork rather than individual achievement, a single thing that is grouped by more than 1 and yet being a team as one.
