Website Announces It Will Host "Fed Pool"
November 4, 2003
GuilderlandXC.com announcedd today that it has formed a partnership with the "Ramjet Runner" organization to bring its now infamous "Fed Pool" to the GuilderlandXC.com audience. The "Fed Pool" is a fun game that Guilderland Alumnus Mike Poole and Andrew Rickert dreamed up when spectating at the NYS Federation meet in 1996. It should be noted, however, that Bob Oates suggested the game to make the day more interesting.
Participants choose their "picks" for the winners of the NYS Federation XC Championships and points are awarded depending on finish. This tradition has been carried on each November since that year and the pool has had as many as 20 participants. There is no fee for entering the pool and no money or prizes awarded. Bragging rights are considered prize enough!
