The following topics,and themes, have been discussed,and have recurred regularly over in our discussion meetings.It is no surprise to us to have to return to them,as they are particlarly germane to the condition of humanity,and they are precisely the subjects about which common knowledge is received wisdom,and thus subject to ideological influence,rather than a rigorous conscious intellectual appraisal.Knowledge is thus constrained,within a schema which will inhibits the emergence of real alternatives.Indeed,within capitalism there are no alternatives which do other than merely reformulate and rearrange the present societal ordering .This is why we must look without capitalism before we can envisage alternatives to it.

You will see that we have started putting articles behind some of the topic titles.Quite literally so, click the Topic graphic heading above for the," Materialist Conception of History",a socialist classic.It isn't that we don't have enough material,it is rather a question of which pieces are most appropriate.It is also worth noting that these topics are never  in their final phase.

History,despite the assertions of Francis Fukayama and others,apologists of capitalism all,is far from ended.It will only end,as a series of class struggles,when the world's people arm themselves with the power, which only real knowledge brings to them,and marry that to their daily experiences and engagement with society,and enable themselves to see, that as the world's people run capitalism, from top to bottom, ultimately against their own social,economic, and political interests,they can seize control of their world,and their own future and run socialism as an integrated society with no structures of dominance or heirarchy.

Thus ,as they abolish the distinction of class which arise out of the position of people in relation to the wealth rationed out by society, they emancipate the whole of humanity.and end the class struggle ,for a world without money or government.It is You who will have to aspire to collectively running the world.If you click on the running man icon above and on the main page you will find another website behind it entitled "The Market System Must Go".

This is not an exhaustive list but it does give an overview of the depth of subjects discussed. We generally advertise in advance what the topic will be, and someone will give a short presentation on a particular topic , and questions and discussion will follow from that.

You will find more in our previous announcements, and announcents, pages .We would also like to draw your attention to our day school which we will be undertaking jointly with Edinburgh Branch.
The discussion meeting is about mutually exploring avenues out of the capitalist mess. This is a relaxed informal meeting, which welcomes folk who come along, and there is no hierarchy nonsense! The meeting isn't a sociology seminar either and while some topics do stretch and stimulate the grey cells, members of branch are not short of real life experience(s) to place material discussed within a real context.

Here is your chance to make a practical difference to society, by helping develop further, the knowledge which will bring about the building of the new society, within the shell of this outmoded one.
