Hi, I'm Glen Spackman.

This page reflects my interest in silent and miniature forms of aviation, the weather, fly fishing and fly tying. At the moment Radio Controlled Soaring is the primary content. A new look web site is still in the planning phase. (Double click on the small photos to view a larger image)

Wellington

I live in the north west suburbs of Wellington, New Zealand. This shot of Wellington looks east across the CBD and inner harbour to the Orongorongo hills. Wellington is a compact city nestled on hills around the flanks of the harbour. It is a great place to live. (Photo:Wayne Tietjens,Wlg)

Floating

This R/C sailplane is an example of the lightly weighted "floater" type, with its 100" span open structure wing. The Tom Williams design is an SD-100 and it was kitted by Craft Air, being a version of their Windrifter. This type of sailplane trundles about the sky relatively slowly & is relaxing to fly. This smallish brown trout of around 4Lbs was taken on a dabbled nymph by Ed Allen from the Mangatainoka river in the lower North Island of NZ.
