The Letters of Stephen

(Granger for Stephen): Today we will begin a series of Letters to Our Friends on Earth. These letters will describe certain areas of life which we believe are of interest to you; some may be of vital concern to you. We will present the information as we understand it to be. Let us begin now what we will call The Letters of Stephen.

Letter Number One

When the time came in the earth for man to encounter the presence of the spirit a new day dawned in the earth. Your records refer to this sometimes, as in the Creation Story, with the phrase, "God made man in His own image." This expression was intended to convey the idea of a second phase in man's creation: the first phase being of physical development. We do not understand the great controversy that has raged up and down the earth over this concept. Man first developed a physical body and a brain. The brain was well advanced before the second phase occurred. Man became "a living soul" when the personality, sent out from the High-soul, entered the physical aspect of brain and body. Man is a psychic and spiritual being as well as a physical being. He stands in the threshold of a double doorway. First, he is physical, with all the heritage of the physical development of natural laws on the physical earth. Second, he is of divine origin in that he possesses ...he is a spiritual being.

We need to make the point very clear that man is not just a physical development that came out from under the physical woodpile. He is physical in all the terms and heritage of a physical life and development, but he is also of spirit, of soul, of divine inheritance. He is, indeed, a spiritual being in a physical body.

The question is, how could a spiritual being of divine origin get so involved in the problems which encounter man in the earth today?

That is the question we need to explain. We will present, from our observation, from outside the human arena, our understanding of what brought about these problems with which the human race seems to be so plagued today. Obviously, we trust it is obvious, a divine spiritual being. a personality of divine origins, is not intended to live under the conditions so many people of the earth are required to live under, even in this day of enlightenment.

Let us bring this first little letter to a close and we will continue our discussion in a series of longer letters. Now, for letter number one. we will sign-off and start with Letter Number Two.
