Laura Luna, A Cuban-American Artist on the Rise
Laura Luna Laura Luna was born in Cuba.  She is one of the many Cuban artists that have recently arrived from Cuba since the Mariel boat lift, injecting a creative revision to Cuban culture in Miami.

Laura studied in the Escuela Nasional de Arte, San Alejandro, receiving the highest recognitions from her instructors, until her father was imprisoned for political opposition of the Castro government.  After that, her official education was stifled however, her artistic talent continued to flourish.

Her style is flamboyant and sensitive.  Her pieces express womanhood in a celebration of confidence and virility.  Her creations are integrated with themes of mythology, Santeria, and symbolism.

Laura's most important exhibition has been "Hierofania", which is her version of La Caridad del Cobre, Cuba's patron saint.

Laura's philosophy towards are is:  "La vida es mi maestra, los sentidos mis guias, mi creacion mi amante."  Life is my teacher, feelings my guide, my creations my lover.
